Absolutely Will Be Back. I went to the 1051 Bistro for a party lastnight. Unfortunately my girlfriend was already sick before coming so we couldn’t make it through dinner. I found the waitress and told her my situation. She was more than accommodating. She asked the kitchen to please make our food fast for us. Just for the service I received alone I would come back. However when we got home I sat down and ate the meal I ordered, Azul pan seared scallops. It was one of the best meals I’ve eaten. The scallops were perfect and the lobster risotto was creamy and delicious. I look forward to coming back there again and again.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. My husband and I have been in the restaurant business for many years, and enjoy eating out and trying new places. Since this place is in the town we live in, we thought we’d give it a try, especially since we see it advertised in HQ (hometown quarterly) and usually the restaurants in that paper have been great. Well, this place is horrendous. The food is tasteless, bland, and the potatoes taste like instant out of a box…infact the cardboard box would have tasted better. The owner is a little arrogant, obnoxious jerk. Maybe if you frequent regularly he is nice to you, but he was rude and absolutely a little horrible man. I wouldn’t go back to this place if you gave me a million dollars. Worst meal I have had in a year and definitely NOT worth the price. There are plenty of restaurants in a 10 mile radius with great food. If you want Itallian go to Tarantellas, and Sushi is right down the street on Raritan Road. You won’t be treated like you are family at this joint, unless maybe you are, lol. …an update to my review…Bistro Mike sent me a very nasty email. Guess he can’t take constructive criticism. He accused me of making up my email address, which I have had for the last 10 years, and he also thinks we have some pizzeria, lol….he can’t stand the fact that he was rude and obnoxious on our visit to his restaurant. He also parks his truck all over the place and I know for a fact her has been told by the property managers of the A & P property NOT to park his truck there. He continued to park it there until recently, after continued requests from the management. He’s just not a nice guy. I wouldn’t have added this, had he not written me a very nasty email.
You two idiots putting down the bistro should probably get your head checked… Anytime I’ve been there to eat I have been more than satisfied, maybe it was the way you presented yourselves… Because Michael is the nicest owner I’ve ever known and his staff is trained well beyond any other restaurant My husband and i frequent. We step throoigh the door and we feel like family there. We love the wait staff Jamie, Erin, and Donna they are the best at what they do… So for those of you who’ve had problems there I wouldn’t be surprised if the real reason for ur dissatisfaction was upon yourselves… And how old are you?does it make you feel better bashing a restaurant on a review site?? Grow up. As I said my husband and I have gone to bistro over 100 times without a single complaint, I know the problem doesn’t fall under them. You wanna know the route of the problem?? Take A look in the mirror pal go eat somewhere else!! Michael and staff we love you all!! See ya this weekend for some outstAnding food… As always xoxo
Always try a place twice before I post. The second time was worse than the first. Mediocre sushi, poor service and bland food. Stay away. Pick up sushi down the street at Momotaro and Italian at Tarantellas. Stay away from this place.
Delicious. I’ve dined at Bistro 1051 quite a few times and have always been satisfied. The service is exceptional. The food delicious. The atmosphere is great. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Had a very unique roll that’s become my new favorite 🙂 The italian food is scrumptious. I especially loved the seared scallops with vegetable risotto and the lobster ravioli is divine. BYOB and make reservations ASAP because it’s worth it!
I’ve lived in Jersey for 5 years, and this was the first time I’ve ever FELT like I was in stereotypical Jersey. That said, I just ate the best steak I’ve had in 5 years. Crab soup was excellent as well. Considering that the restaurant is tucked into the back of a nondescript out-of-the-way strip mall, this was an unexpected surprise.
