There are new owners now. The bakery has new owners and their breads, cakes and other baked goods have totally changed. I haven’t bought anything yet that I didn’t think was delicious.
I know the Allwood Bakery for many Years. I leave in Delaware and when I visit my Family up North I allways stopt there and got me some treads. Bread and Cakes and Pasteries where allways very good. But after the Bakery was sold 2 years ago it went down the drain. Now there is a new Owner in there and my Family tells me that the Product had improved. Now I look forward to get me some goodies as I have in the past.
NOT GOOD AT ALL ANYMORE =(. My family use to go to this bakery…it’s just not as good as it was 10+ years ago? The cheesecake is not tasty =( And this week we got a cake and it was lopsided…words were jammed on it and didn’t look right….and it looked like someone poked their finger in the side of it….not happy..I rather drive out 20 minutes to an excellent and professional location
The Allwood Bakery changed to ALL – WOOD. I grew up in Clifton and lived there the first 27 years of my life. Every time I would return to visit family and friends it was customary for us to stop by The Allwood Bakery and pick up some old favorites. Brownies where a big favorite as where the Rasberry twist. Not to mention the French rolls that they would make on Weekends. On my last trip down to NJ the family stopped by to get some of my favorites and to say we where all very disappointed would be an understatement. Folks, the Rasberry twist was the same type that I could buy at Dunkin Donuts, they used less Rasberry fill, lost the crunchiness and the golden texture that would crumble when you bit into it. In short, they changed a treat into just another donut. The Brownies, another failure, they lost the nuts, cut the height of the brownie in half and made it the same type that I can buy at Stop and Shop or ShopRite, yet another failure. As for the French Rolls, the girls behind the counter didn’t even know what I was talking about. This Bakery that I grew up with and became so fond of turned into yet another cookie cutter establishment when the original owners sold out and the new ones failed to allow the bakers to continue to do what they did so well. BAKE. It turned into the bottom line as apposed to satisfying the customer. I would buy products on trips home and bring them back to friends in RI and they loved them. I sadly say, that too is a thing of the past.Farewell, Allwood BakeryYour new products are simply All wood
