Lomo saltado. There is nothing more I enjoy in life than finding hidden gems wherever I look. Whether it’s a $20 bill in my pocket that I totally forgot about, a shot glass with Pikachu on it, or an obscure restaurant that serves up some delicious food! This time around I’m talking about a small Peruvian goodness called La Nona in Clifton. One can drive by this place without even noticing it. I certainly did when I visited for the first time. I was made aware of this place from a bunch of my coworkers who have been ordering takeout for years. I decided to order with them one day and boy-oh-boy was that one of my better decisions in life. (It certainly made up for that time when I rode my bicycle with nothing but spandex. I’m just shaking thinking about it again.) Anyways totally off topic, but speaking of shaking when I tried the lomo saltado de carne for the first time it was heaven. I couldn’t believe the burst of flavor. I love Spanish food and Peruvian certainly represents it well.My food of choice from La Nona is my favorite, lomo saltado de carne. It is strips of marinated beef sauted with onions and French fries served over a bed of rice. What a genius! It’s like a melting of South American, American, and Asian cultures. If this was poker this three of a kind would take down any hand! This dish is a must for those of you who will visit. (BTW they also have a chicken version of the lomo saltado, but I have yet to try it). Another option is the pollo a la parilla. It’s grilled chicken with rice and potato. Yes please! Their serving is also very generous and one order can probably feed two, but why would you want to share?!
Amazing place to eat. Had a blast, very cheap and amazing. Recommended place to eat if your in the mood for a good quick Peruvian meal. Employers are very friendly.

Average place. I like that I can order from work. Sometimes they don’t get my order correct, very annoying, but the ceviche is good, not great…I’ll buy from them when I had nothing better to eat at work. I’ve never dined in tho
