We’ve been to all of the Italian BYO’s in Collingswood, and Bistro is our favorite, bringing us back at least twice/month. The courtyard is the perfect perch during the nicer months. The gnocchi is a religion here, and the best in South Jersey. The gnocchi misto appetizer is not to be missed (mix/match any three gnocchi combinations; our favorite: gorgonzola, stephano, and pomodoro). Antipasti caldo (broccoli rabe, light calamari, eggplant rollatini, and shrimp) is very good too. Flounder franchese is lightly breaded, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Never saved room for dessert. In a sea of Italian BYO’s, Marino stands out.
Was just turned down for not having reservations at quarter to 5 when the restaurant was completely empty. Another Collingswood restaurant that’s getting too big for its britches. Will never go back the foods not THAT good.
Fantastic food…however…. First time visit. I had the gnocchi with basil pesto cream sauce and red peppers, I also special requested spinach and spicy sausage be added to the dish and it was so good. One of the best italian dishes I have yet to eat, and I have been to many Italian restaurants. Unfortunately, the service was terrible, the waiter did not even tell us his name and we had to wait a very long time for dinner to be served. Also, he never asked if we needed anything while we were eating or how our food was. When he brought us the dessert menu it took him twenty minutes to come back to see if we wanted anything, needless to say, we wanted the check. Bottom line, food is superb, service was awful.
I am a frequent customer and the food is consistently delicious everytime
Best gnocchi. I like gnocchi but I wouldn’t say I had ever gotten excited about it until I had it at Bistro di Marino. It is light and tasty. The marina sauce you could drink its so good. This is by far the best thing on the menu. Don’t get me wrong, there other food is good but one dreams about the gnocchi
Decent Lunch Buffet. This restaurant is good, the lunch buffet is a good price and the choices are usually good. Sometimes the pasta dishes get mushy from sitting out but overall the food isn’t bad. The service is very good. I probably would not come here for dinner because the prices are high and the food is good but not good enough for me to spend the extra money.
Back Again. We went back again with the family for our daughter’s 18th birthday. As usual, the gnocchi and the veal dishes were outstanding. We also had an antipasta and fried artichokes served family style. Both of these were excellent as well. I can’t say enough about how much I like this restaurant.24 Nov, 2009A great BYOB in Collingswood. This is a great Italian BYOB. I had the gnochhi misto which is a selection of three of the gnochhi dishes from the entree menu served as an appetizer. It was excellent. For my entree I had the veal melanese with a side of pasta. The veal was three tender fried cutlets with the arugula and tomatoe served on the side which was good because sometimes with this dish the salad can overpower the veal. It was the best milanese I have ever had. Everything was served piping hot and the service was professional.
