Good food, slovenly inept staff, barnlike atmosphere. The owner and two young men, poorly and sloppily dressed and uncaring and unsocial and unhelpful re the menu to two first-time visitors. It took a long time to get our food but we were pleased that it did not seem to be waiting for us and was cooked to order. If they’d sharpen up their people and their ambience and have a more social presence this could be a good restaurant.

FoodCritic. The food and the service is horrible. We went for dinner with family. It took them 20 minutes to get the water and Menu and we needed to remind them for every item. What we ordered and what we got was very different. The worst service I have ever seen.Irrespective of the Food and the Service this restaurant will always put 18% Gratuity whether you like it or not.I would never go again to this place.

Worst Indian Restaurant in NJ. We made the fateful decision of going to this place on a Saturday night. There was not much of a crowd and they could easily find seating for our party of 8. Once we sat down and waited for a while, we observed a number of waiters buzzing by, but no one bothered to stop by our desk. After making some hand signals, one of the waiters stopped by and took our order. He had such a phony American accent that he could not say the names of the dishes correctly (in spite of being Indian). Six in our party got our food fairly soon. For the other two, there were no signs of food coming to our table. After waiting an additional 15 minutes (we’re a considerate lot), we inquired about the food to another waiter (because our original waiter never showed up after that). The new guy told us it will be 5 more minutes. We finally got the food 30 minutes after the other 6 got their order. The food itself was kinda bland. Parts of the dosa was not cooked properly, and it tasted like semi-cooked batter.. None of the dosas we ordered were hot or crisp, but felt like they were waiting somewhere. Dosas should be had as fresh as possible, with minimal lag time between the hot plate & your plate. The dosas came with 4 side-dishes: one sambar & 3 types of chutneys. The sambar was okay. Unfortunately, all 3 chutneys (coconut, mint & unknown) were so bland, you could not tell one from the other if you had closed your eyes. Our waiters (both old & new) never bothered to stop by and see how we were doing. We also observed a few other customers were (politely) complaining to the waiters on the quality of service. When it came time to pay the bill, we once again had to wait for a long time as the waiters had by now abandoned us. We were joking among ourselves that the restaurant felt too embarrassed by the quality of food & service they did not want to charge us. After raising our hands & waving for some time, one of the waiters got us the bill. They had already included the gratuity as well. On checking the bill, we found we had been overcharged by $9 for an item we had never ordered. We brought it to the attention of the waiter, and he said he will take care of it while running the credit card. After 2 minutes, he brought us back the credit card receipt without removing the extra charge as he was supposed to. By this time, I was so livid to give him a piece of my mind. With family & friends with me, I did not want to make an issue out of this and further ruin my evening. I just paid and left.Bottomline: This would definitely rank among the worst dining experiences I have had. From the looks of it, none of the other patrons seemed to have a different experience either.

Wonderful Sunday Buffet Experience. Originally we wanted to have Sushi @ nearby Kings, which was closed on Sunday – It was sheer luck that my family & discovered this wonderful hidden gem.Great selection of very authentic south Indian 100% vegetarian food, many not commonly found in other restaurants. The ambiance & decor is nice, the staff very friendly and the prices very reasonable. Only two critical comments:-(i) My wife & kids found it slightly on the spicy side, as they have never been to India unlike me.(ii) I think there were perhaps too many customers at one point, so table service could have been a bit faster in a perfect scenario.Overall, an extremely positive experience, would not hesitate to visit again, even though I live in Princeton with several other Indian restaurants closer to me..

Dosai Place Food is Delicious and Authentic. After recommended by my friend who had visited this restaurant couple of times, I thought of ordering a take out but as I had to stop by at Staples, I saw the sign of 100% vegetarian and could not wait to go in and see the place was packed, luckily got a table as we were just 3 of us. I am really impressed with the quality of the food as it was very authentic. We tried Andhra Spicy Masala Dosa, Paneer 65(my kid loved it) and a Special South Indian thali. The Thali had choice of chapatti or poori, couple of curries, couple of rice items, rasam, sambar,Ghee and the list goes on(all items served in thali were delicious). The best part is Dosa was not at all oily and the items served in Thali were not heavy at all and above all the prices are very low. I am really excited about a nice 100% vegetarian restaurant in our community

I saw the sign going up for this establishment and wondered why another Indian restaurant was opening. The next time I went by I saw that it was vegetarian and thought I’d give it a try. I am not particularly fond of American vegetarian but I knew this would be different. It is!! On my first visit I was the only Anglo and the party that was not a family. The gentleman who appeared to be one of the managers notice that I was having a problem with the menu. I did not know that Dosa is a type of dish so the menu was a little intimidating. He asked if I needed help. Yes. I explained that I was unfamiliar with the dishes and could he recommend something that would best represent the offerings. I also said I would like as much diversity as possible. He recommended a dish that gave me about 8 different flavor combinations. It fit the bill perfectly. By the time I left I had my next two meals planned, the first one I have just enjoyed and I can’t wait until the next time. If you are ever in the neighborhood I highly recommend this place. You’ll never miss the meat (as I was afraid I would), the prices are exceptional and the staff is very friendly.
