No lines, no hype,Inexspensive, and good!. My hubby and I first tried Musubi in Hawaii and it is not too known on the east coast so we were glad to find it here!Omusubi Gonbei, a Japanese chain known for its hand made Musubi opened a kiosk at Mitsuwa Market Place in Edgewater NJ. They are made with organic white or brown rice, and cost $1.50 to $2.50 each (cash only), depending on the filling. There are only a few restaurants in NYC that make Musubi and none that are authentic.Tokyo Teriyaki in Forest Hills used to be authentic until they sold it. So to my knowledge Omusbi Gonbei at Mitsuwa Marketplace is the only place in the Metro area where you can get authentic Musubi. Also known as Onigri, Musubi is a Japanese snack that involves triangular balls of rice and different types of cured seafood, like tuna, salmon, and even octopus.People in the US call it rice balls like Italian rice balls but they are not they are Japanese.Musubi is Japanese. It is authentic and while the line snakes around the entire market place for Ramen there are no lines here. I think it is because people do not know what it is.They are authentic, inexpensive and there are no lines. There is no reason not to go!
