Incredibly complex food. As the third or fourth Peruvian restaurant in which I’ve eaten, Don Julio continues what I perceive as this culture’s long tradition of melding sophisticated cuisines into something indescribably delicious. Saltados (stir fries) with french fries cooked into them…MMMMM!This establishment, along with Sabor Peru up in Rutherford, tend to combine grilled ingredients with those cooked by other methods–truly unique. There’s too much fantastic food on either menu to wax about…Do not side-step this eatery!…one in a long chain of kick-ass Hispanic restaurants in and around Elizabeth. Best time to go might be during the day: Port Elizabeth’s 3rd Street–not far away–is sketchy.

Very good place. Honestly I never had Peruvian food before and I never thought about trying it but I decided to give this place a shot because it looked really nice inside. So thank God I did! What a surprise! The food was awesome. I loved the ceviche that I ordered. I don’t know what they did but the sauce made me go WOW! Soooo good. The green sauce that they serve with the cancha which is like a dried corn (kind of tastes like popcorn) is delicioso. I also tried the lomo saltado which my boyfriend got and that was awesome.
Great Food. This place is clean and the food is great, that’s why always is full the weekends……that means a lot…..I love it!!!
Don Julio, a peruvian based dining area, overall is a good restaurant. it offers good food with excellent service. the end.
