  Great Food and Service. Due to the proximity of the Hampton Inn in Fairfield (where Calandra’s Mediterranean is located) to my office I have eaten at this restaurant at least thirty times. Although it’s a little on the pricey side, the convenience of staying at the hotel and the quality of the food is too hard to pass up. They have a standard menu featuring some customary Italian dishes combined with others that are more creative. There is also a list of daily specials including appetizers, fish, meat and pasta dishes. The quality of the food is great. The fish is always fresh and prepared perfectly and the meat and pasta dishes are equally well done. They also feature entree sized salads that are quite awesome as well. If you feel like having something which is not on the menu, they will make this too which reminds me of the neighborhood Italian restaurants I would go to while growing up in NY. I can truly say I have never had a meal at this restaurant that didn’t fully meet or exceed my expectations. In addition, they serve fresh Italian bread made in their own bakery and served with freshly greated parmigiano reggiano cheese and have a good selection of wine. Some of these wines are imported directly to the US from Italy by the Calandra family and represent good options at reasonable prices. The service is also very good. As a frequent stayer/eater, I feel like family when I dine there. I recommend it highly – you can’t go wrong at Calandra’s

  Overrated. Nothing special.. food is okay..there are better places in the area to go.
