This quaint little restaurant started a few years ago, and quickly became one of our favorites, especially for quick take-out meals. They had just started doing sit-down business when the location was bought by another (less tasty) restaurant. But now they’re back – better than ever. A delicious mix of Mediterranean and Italian dishes, the owners/cooks do a great job at providing great meals at a good price. Whether you eat in (or out, on the patio) or do take out, you won’t be disappointed. The menu isn’t huge but brevity equals quality. My favorites are the lamb dishes – perfectly seasoned lamb kabobs (available as a pita sandwich or as a platter) are the top choice, but the beef and chicken are also very good. Side dishes like the dolmah are also exceptional, and my wife can’t resist the baklava. They make great Mediterranean salads with strong but tasty feta, and I learned last night that they are now making a Feta Burger — something I’ll have to try my next visit. But one of the things that makes the Cafe so wonderful isn’t the food – it’s the people. The owners are a really sweet couple, very friendly and engaging and always wanting to know you as a person and not just a customer. We get personal greetings each time we come, and that little touch means a lot.
