Mediocre Ribeye.. Steak was very mediocre. We sat at the bar. Girl was on her own and overworked. She was very nice. Understaffed for a Saturday night. People next to us sent back an undercooked lobster. I asked for a Cabernet which was probably one of the worst wines I’d ever had. Grape juice. It’s really not that hard to get a simple good red wine at the bar. Ribeye was not nice and tender.
Hmmm…… Arthur’s Tavern in Hoboken used to be the go to place in Jersey for one of the most delicious, melt in your mouth steaks you could ever want. It even rivaled some of the big name NY joints if you asked me back then. They also served fantastic garlic bread, killer potatoes and great French onion soup all at very reasonable prices. The last time my family and I visited the food was just extremely disappointing. The formerly delicious 24 oz. ribeyes were extremely fatty and tough, the prices had almost doubled and the place seemed a little dirty. Even the garlic bread was weak. The service was also terrible. I’m not sure what happened here but the decline in quality was really a huge letdown to us especially after being regulars for years. What a shame!

This place is known for their big steaks but I want to talk burgers.. They are heavenly, hearty and juicy. There are some new burger shops in Hoboken that are very good but they can’t touch Arthurs burgers. The only reason Arthurs is not know for it’s burgers is because it’s know for it’s steak first.
