The Best Nationally Known Subs!. My family lives in Woodbridge, Virgina, and anytime we come close to the State of New Jersey, as we did this October 2012, on the way to NYC, we detour and stop at Mike’s Sub Shop in Keyport, NJ. These subs are incredibly good — and large. They hand slice each piece of meat and cheese for each sandwich! No one does that these days. These insanely fresh and tasty subs have high quality ingredients that have kept them in business by word of mouth for 50 years! On the way back home, we usually stop by Mike’s again and stock the cooler with a half-dozen subs for dinner that night and lunch the following day. I ran into a couple from Florida getting some subs. That’s crazy! With a national reputation, this little family owned business is more than worth the trip and detour off the NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway. When we go to the shore, these subs are perfect for lunch at the Ocean.

Best subs around!!My husband & I pick up a couple of subs before heading out on our boat,it doesn’t matter what kind you order they’re all delicious & the bread is always fresh.I highly recommend them. Friends that have moved out of state always ask about them & how they miss their subs.

Mike’s Sub Shop is the Best. I live in S.J. now, land of the Hoagie. My family has been going to Mike’s since they opened and I HAVE to have a SUPER every time I go back to Keyport. It’s a tradition. The aroma of the onions and fixin’s can be caught outside the restaurant. Nirvana. There is none better.
