Disappointed. The soup was delicious as were the scallops. But that’s all. The soft shell crabs were hard. The lobster tail and shrimp were hard and rubbery. The flounder was too crisped at the edges and lacked seasoning. The stuffed clams barely had clam an were a bit sour. Too pricey for mediocre food. I get a better seafood platter at my local diner.

Gross gross gross. This place used to be so much better. My caprese salad, on their special menu had two tomatoe slices only. The bread looked beautiful but tasted like cardboard and our food took quite awhile to come out. It’s too bad because this used to be a great place.

Excellent!. Great atmosphere, service and food! The restaurant has a very warm, inviting feel. The staff is courteous and willing to please. The menu is mostly catered to seafood lovers, but there is something on the menu I think that everyone can enjoy. One of my favorites from this restaurant is the Maryland Style Crab Cake, which is low on fillers and boasts large amount of fresh crab meat.

$11 Lobster Bisque – not really worth it. Tilapia and shrimp Francaise was a 6 on a scale of 10. Home made Russian salad dressing was very good.

My wife and ijust had a great time here. Though we stuck with steamed shrimp and crab clusters, the food was fresh and our waiter (Dustin) was very attentive. I do wish the taps were more varied, but that’s not a rare thing for me to whinge about 🙂

The Crab Claw is a Lavallette landmark. Not for the family with the screaming kids but a great local joint to hang and socialize. Join the 99 beer club and have a Jersey Burger. Tell them P.Mo sent you ask for Sam and Louise and say hello for me.

Bad Experience. Went there recently with our 2 kids–14 & 12 y/o.Waitress was very nice, but not around very much. Food was another story. Out of 3 apps,2 soups and 4 entrees–only 1 appetizer and 1 soup was edible. We are not complainers so we wrapped up the entrees and took them with us to the nearest trash can.Check was over $160. including tip. Biggest problem was all food was way overcooked and very bland. Had a piece of fish that was cooked to the consistency of driftwood. A piece of grilled chicken was like a rubber doormat.Only dish I can recommend was the Buffalo Calamari. So go there for that and a beer—but don’t sit down and order dinner or you will probably regret it. We won’t go there in the future.
