If you like IPAs and really hoppy beers, this place is for you. Since those aren’t my bag, I wound up not liking any of the beers I tried. However, from a objective standpoint, this place is awesome. For $5-8 you get a healthy flight of small batch beers made on premises and a tour. I love stuff like this and was impressed. The bartenders were nice and helpful. Ultimately I had fun even if I decided these beers aren’t for me.

Self or guided tours, we did the self. Plenty of interesting fact boards and displays to describe the process. Nice patio area to spend time and enjoy your tasting samples. Then you can purchase growler of your favorite.

I spent a fun Sunday afternoon here with my wife and one of her high school friends. Due to state regulations, you must take a tour of the brewery before you can go to the bar, and this can consist of either a guided tour or a self-service tour. The latter means going to the other room, picking up a tour card to prove you took the tour, and looking at some of the informational displays–or not.A flight of four 4-oz. pours is only $5 ($10 if you want a souvenir glass), and they had a wide variety of beers on the day we were there, from a saison to a honey porter to a cherry/lime sour. The only challenge was that not all of the pours we got matched the slips we filled out. All three of us got the Coastal Evacuation double IPA and all three of our samples looked and tasted completely different! (We finally bought a six-pack to go, and I would highly recommend it.)Another thing to know is that Cape May Brewing does not serve any food, also possibly a state law. You can get pretzel sticks, Goldfish crackers, and the like, but that’s about it.Despite the fact that this is a brewery, it is also kid friendly. Cape May brews non-alcoholic beverages like ginger ale, root beer, and fruit punch soda, so the kids can have their own tasting. We also bought a mini-growler of the ginger ale, and it was very good.
