Good food, friendly staff.16 Jan, 2013If you decide to visit prospect tavern make sure you go on karaoke night. I was meeting a college friend who I hadn’t seen in five years. She had just recently moved to Madison and suggested Prospect Tavern for dinner. I had never been and when we got there we had to wait a half hour to be seated, which I was not happy about, but they have a cute bar that helped pass the time. When we were finally called we were starving. Well it was certainly worth the wait! I had a crab combo appetizer,which was ok, but my Cajun cowboy steak may have been the best I ever had. After completely stuffing ourselves with wine and drinks we were feeling pretty tired and started slowly saying our good byes. All of a sudden we here a dj announce it is karaoke night, and we just stop and look at each other. It was like we were in college again. We decided to sing and next thing you know it was last call. Luckily my friend is in walking distance lol. Anyways, we had a blast and promised each other we would make this an annual event.
The food is simply unbelievable. Every time I’m trying something new on their menu, I cannot believe how good it is. I used to always get artichoke and spinach dip for appetizer, and pastrami ruben. I cannot tell you enough how good that is. I have also had buffalo chicken salad, sirloin burger on ciabatta roll, and prime rib. Great job prospect tavern

Very pleased!. My family & I just moved to town and decided to try prospects one night for dinner. It is a little dark in the dining room but well worth it. I had the Reuben and my husband had the Manicotti special. Both were absolutely delicious and our kids loved the sliders! We’ll definitely be back for more : )

Cozy, Comfortable Atmosphere. Had dinner here with my family the other night. Besides the fact that my sister picked up the check (always nice), we had a great experience. Service was fast and burgers/steaks came out cooked to the temperature we requested. Overall, good food, nice ambiance — we were seated next to the fireplace, which was nice as it was a particularly cold night. Will be returning with friends in the future, and I look forward to spending a night at the bar, which seemed like a lot of fun as they had a live band performing.
Sunday dinner…. I’m no stranger to the Prospect but let me tell you this…..A must do for a sunday afternoon is going to Prospect Tavern for their Sunday pasta…. the best pasta I have ever had. Home made fresh rigatoni was out of this world with the fresh garlic and basil tomato sauce… started with the nachos which were excellent and my friend had the french onion soup.
