  Authentic Japanese chef, traditional cuisine with interesting creations and a very friendly staff makes Takuma by far THE BEST Japanese experience in northern new jersey. I go there every month and love it! The price is right too, plus they don’t charge for the hot tea. I recommend the chow roll and the sushi & sashimi combo.

  Melt in your mouth deliciousness. I have gone to this restaurant many times with my husband and it is THE best place to go for sushi and sashimi. Often people think that freshness of the fish is the only factor in a good sushi restaurant. But a master chef like Mr. Otai knows that cutting the fish properly is just as critical to truly bring out the flavors of the fish. He prepares pieces that are not only aesthetically beautiful, but melt in your mouth delicious. The Miso soup alone could be worth the trip. For non-sushi eaters or vegetarians the menu is broad enough to truly satisfy a wide variety of foodies. I highly recommend the Ramen, Miso Udon, Hamachi Kama, Beef Negimaki, the Rocket Roll, or the Otai roll (my favorite).

  Perfect Dinner. What’s not to like. Great quality. Perfect service. Creative rolls. Great menu selections beyond Sushi. BYOB. Reasonable prices for the neighborhood. The Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail Jaw), which you don’t see everywhere, was perfect!
