Myself and a guest went to the Freehold, NJ location a ew weeks ago, and had a fantastic time. We had drinks at the bar. Drinks and service were perfect. The dining experience was wonderful. Our server, was 110%…she was excellent; one of the best servers ever. The food was delicious…. going back tonight……
Went in for my birthday dinner back in May and noticed they completely overhauled the menu. We were game for trying the new menu but of the six of us, not one of us was impressed. There is no ground beef for the kids tacos, nor taco salad. The margaritas used to come in these great, big glasses but they took those away too. I couldn’t have been any more disappointed by the menu or drinks. The waitress raved over how good the food was, but we found it to be empty hype. Hope they change it back SOON!

A Mexican Restaurant with No Beef??. Our family ate here at least once a month. Stopped in early April & noticed they made some changes…very nice by the way! Sat down, looked at the menu and nothing on there that we used to order..did notice prices had increased somewhat…but its ok the food is (was ) to our liking…. My daughter loves, loves, loves the beef tacos…we always got them for the table too….but there was nothing on the menu?? Asked our server, very nice guy, he said I am sorry we dont have them anymore??? I do not understand how a Mexican Restaurant does not offer Beef? as in Tacos, Enchilada’s, Empenadaps????? She looked at me and we realized this was not our Escondidos anymore 🙁 we had to leave as nothing else was appealing. My idea of Mexican is not fish tacos :/ On our way in and out we passed young adults who obviously had been drinking lots that evening, one was yelling at some lady for her waiting to turn?? but I guess this is the clientele that Escondidos now wishes to cater to…
Horrible. This restaurant should be absolutely ashamed of itself. The manager on duty tonight, Jim, was horrible and inconsiderate to say the very least. Denying a group of 8 half-priced appetizers while seating outside the cantina (even though each person ordered a drink or two), which we have gotten at that price several times in the past, and over-charging debit cards twice with no remorse is not just bad business but a sign of poor customer service. When we asked him to remedy the situation, he did not care. Do not patronize this establishment. They are thieves and don’t care about customer satisfaction. IT SUCKS! Shame on you.
Not so good. We ate there a week ago, were not impressed. Ribs were tender, but were tasteless. The fries were heavy and greasy. My wife had the chimi churri steak, which was also tasteless, and was tough to boot. I would not go there again.
Fake mexican eww. Its no where near authentic, the tortilla chips are stale and i basically end up hating myself for deciding to eat here every time i go. umm go to el meson instead if you actually want real mexican food not the lame-o stuff escondido’s serves. and
