Friendly staff, authentic food. While a little pricey, my girlfriends family and I go for a treat and we’re satisfied every time. Their acapudias and tostones are to die for, their mofongo is excellent, and the red beans and rice are a treat. The staff is very polite, helpful, and with larger groups, we’ve had the owner come over and check on us to make sure we were satisfied more than once.If you love authentic food, this is the place to go.

Enjoy it!!. We had a wonderful dinner at Salsa Latina in Matawan. We were warmly greeted and the atmosphere was really nice with a few Banana palm trees, and Painted murals on the walls of scenes of Puerto Rico.Service was informative, friendly, and very timely. First we were treated to a loaf of home made Garlic bread that had a chopped garlic sauce all oer the top, it smelled sooooo good…& a complimentary spicey bean spread from the Chef…..Started with with the Beef Empanadas appetizers they were really good, moist, seasoned, and flavorful, another nice touch is they have real imported hot sauces from Puerto rico, which come in pint whiskey bottles, a Jalapeno, & a wonderful Orange Habanero, which up from you get the nice orange flavor and hits like a bull on the back end later on…nice!!For our main courses I ordered the Mofongo Camarones, which came in a big Pestle with Jumbo marinated shrimps hanging off the sides OMG sooo good!! & with a nice dipping sauce also..The ladies had the Ropa Vejeho, (shredded beef stew) with yellow rice & gandules, the stew came in a separate Calderon pot which was a nice touch and the sauce was to die for to put over the rice.Salsa Latina will be a regular stop on our journeys north as there are so many other dishes we wanted to try…..Two Big Thumbs up for sure!!!!Enjoy
