Recently off the Mark. I have to give this restaurant kudos for responding to my complaint in such a good way. My lesson learned is to always speak up. They were very gracious about their error after all. Good to know!22 Jul, 2013Recently off the Mark. We have been to Avalon Links approximately 5 times. It is reasonable, yet not top of the line. Knowing this, we visited last Saturday. It was busy but the staff is always so accommodating. The regular hostess is always ready to help in every way. Our problem with this visit was the filet. It was absolutely completely overcooked and tasted like cardboard. The waitress asked about the food. I let her know and she immediately brought over the manager, who was very nice but only offered to bring another plate. By this time, my husband had shared his dish with me and I did not want any replacement. I had taken one bite of my meat, yet they did not offer to comp the meal or offer to reduce the price of the dinner. That is just poor service. If you are OK with mediocre food at a fair price and a nice setting, this is a nice place. Don’t expect more, though.

Diamond in the Rough. Went last for dinner with fiance and another couple. The menu really has something for everyone. I ordered the Herb Crusted Grouper, fiance ordered Filet Baltimore, other couple ordered Filet Baltimore (there is more than Filet Baltimore for steak offerings), and Penne Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli. Each plate came out looking amazing, and tasting even more amazing. Both men practically licked their plate clean, with no room left for dessert. My friend and myself were stuffed but saved room for a Snickers Martini. The service was great, her timing impeccable, and attentiveness was not overpowering like some places where they don’t leave you alone. To top it off, it was Thursday, which means Beach Party. The Dan Marro band was playing. The music was not overpowering. We were still able to hold conversations. At Avalon Links your get more than what you pay for.

Saturday night dinner. We had dinner at the bar area. The piano man was playing and the waitress was fun, friend, and attentive. All entrees come with a soup or salad . He had the clam casino soup which was smooth and zesty enough to make you think you are literally eating the solid appetizer. I had the garden salad with mixed romaine, iceburg and spinach topped with bell and hot peppers, tomato ,cucmber, and carrot. ( I didn’t want onions which wasn’t a problem). My entree was so fresh the broiled scallops were sweet as if they just came off the boat . He had the king cut of prime rib which looked like a flintstone steak and was tender and flavorful . We will definately go back again. Thank you for a great meal.

Never disappoints you.. As a club member, I dine there quite alot … lunch and dinner. Super soups. Does not get boring … and the entire staff endeavors to please you at every turn. It’s a fun place to be daily … but especially Happy Hour on Fridays and their special occasions: Halloween; New Year’s Eve; Wine Dinners, etc. … there is something for everyone … and did I tell you about the staff??? Awesome!

Business Lunch. Whether you’ve just finished golfing 18 holes or are meeting colleagues for a bite to eat, Avalon Links serves a delicious lunch. If you go, do not miss the clams casino soup. They also serve dinner which friends tell me is good – I haven’t tried it, so I reserve judgment.
