Was visiting family, they are regulars here. Service was amazing from the host to the servers. Food was outstanding. We had ordered fresh oysters for appetizer. Entrees consisted of Cornish game Hen and Ahi Tuna Steak. Both cooked perfectly and flavorful. Make sure to ask about the weekly specials. Great place for an intimate meal or special occasion. Wont be disappointed. Live piano on the weekend

The calamari was the worst form of this dish I have ever eaten, the rings were exactly the same thin, round rings, they were probably tripe of some sort. They were so tough,I could only choke down two. The young waiter asked if I wanted them boxed! I said no, theywere terrible! Theowner/manager neverchecked onthe table.The ravioli was also nasty. The ribeye was actually pretty good. We had to beg for water, We ordered desert and coffee/cappuccino. The desert came out and it tookliterally 20 minutes for the coffee andcappuccino’s! I was done withdessert! I had to go up to the manager/owner when we were leavingbecause he never came near us and he could havecared less about my complaint.
Heartless on Valentine’s Day. I had an experience that reflects the most heartless owner of a restaurant I have ever come across. It was Valentine’s Day. I was feeling sick from the chemotherapy I had received the day before, but wanted a nice night out, even though I had very little appetite. Palazzo Restaurant had a fixed menu, which they did not disclose when we made our reservation. I asked the waitress and the manager if it might be okay to just have a cup of soup and a salad rather than the full multi-course menu and explained my circumstances. After consulting with the owner, they reported back that no concession or accommodation could or would be made. Surprised, we asked if there was a misunderstanding and were told no, they simply would not be flexible. At that point, I was stunned, in disbelief, so we left and dined elsewhere. I cannot imagine ever going back again.
A Gem in Montclair for Families!. Palazzo Restaurant was an amazing experience for my family during our first visit – we went during the week, with my toddler daughter when there were few in the restaurant. They had a special mini-plate of rice, salmon and sweet peas. My little one ate everything with her fingers and then asked for more! And more recently, at Thanksgiving, we pre-ordered and picked up our meal mid-day. It was brought out to the car on a snowy day, and the presentation was so perfect, and my daughter had her first taste of stuffing, and she asked for more. Palazzo is now my go-to restaurant since we moved to Montclair and I love the amazing energy of Chef John and his team. This is a must visit with a nice atmosphere and discreet staff who ensure that you are not rushed through your meal, yet they remain attentive during the meal. Five stars, and a gem!

Forget Bistro 18, Go Here!. Do yourself a favor, avoid the hype and arrogant owner of Bistro 18 right across the street and go here instead. Food is great! Atmosphere is fun! Seems like this is one of the places in town not as many people know about. They should!
