Don’t waste your time. This was a horrible experience. The food was mediocre at best. There was a shell in my lobster ravioli. We politely asked the manager I could order another entree which took a half hour to come out. The table next to me was going to order that so I told them not order that entree. The manager waited for me to leave and followed me outside saying I’m not welcomed back in his establishment. All that for a $25 entree?
Provesi used to be amazing but the food and service have gone down hill. It was still fine, but I could have made it at home for a quarter of the price.
Definite Favorite!. I don’t usually go to Italian restaurants when I go out to eat, but recently I was introduced to Provesi and finally found an Italian place worth my trip. Went for the first time mother’s day weekend for a girls dinner and thought the food was excellent. So excellent, I went back the following weekend with my husband for a dinner date. I definitely plan to go back again soon. The food to me, from appetizers to dessert, was delicious and the service was just as great. I like that no matter who your waiter is, they all seem to be helpful and ask if you need anything and they were always smiling and friendly.
Don’t go!!!. We called ahead and they said to get there before ten, we arrived at 9:45 and this extremely rude woman with an accent said the kitchen was closed. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life at a restaurant
I’m new to town and tried Provesi. This restaurant has a great location, traditional Italian menu, and great food. Can’t beat the bread and our server Jason did a great job. Provesi is a great place to come sample some of Morristown’s best Italian food.
Have been here twice, there won’t be a third. What kills this place is the service. Our waiter was running all over the place the whole time, yet somehow we had to chase someone down whenever we needed anything. For example, they never brought out our bread after we ordered our meals, so we had to ask someone else (by the time we got it, our meal showed up a minute later). Maybe they thought we were really enjoying ourselves staring lovingly at our olive oil, which was seemingly meant for looks and not actually for bread dipping. We also had to chase our waiter down for water refills, since the glasses were so small and he decided that he should only fill up each one like 3/4 full. The second time, his pitcher ran out and he says, ‘I’ll be right back with more’ and we never saw him again. It was the same type of service the last time I was here as well, and seems to be a trend with other reviewers. Their timing was just totally off, and I’m usually one to be patient with servers. They just weren’t on top of much. I think their prerequisite for hiring waiters is severe ADD. It’s a shame, too, because the food was above average italian and both of our dinners were pretty tasty (bread as well). We won’t be back, unless they hand deliver me a fresh breadstick. 3/5
