Mom’s Kitchen Disaster. Italian food at its worst. We will never go there again and we gave them three chances. Do yourself a favore and go to Vic’s instead. My wife ordered an alfredo dish with shrimp and it tasted like wet powder. the shrimp wee cut up, too. who does that? we sent it back and thr dumb-ass manager charged her for half the dish because she ate a few pieces of the cut up shrimp. Never again…never.
What a horror show. The food was adequate at best. Home cooking? Not as good as it is advertised to be. The service was awful!!! Some very elderly woman who could not even greet us with a hello, spent the entire night acting as though she would have rather been any where else or wishing we would stop annoying her with our petty requests, like water or another drink. Our dinners somehow got lost in the kitchen and it took forever to get the main course. The waitress barely came over to tell us what was happening and when she did she acted as though somehow we were at fault . My husband was told to shut up twice and we were accused of laughing and annoying her. You can keep this place, it is not worth a second trip.
Mama Mia!. Gordon Ramsey needs to pay Mom’s a visit. Her Kitchen is a mess. The menu is just plain antiquated. And the interior isn’t much better: diner style tables and chairs, paper napkins and placemats, and cheap flea-market flatware. The food is adequate at best. Forget about anything as modern as whole wheat pasta or a Caesar salad. It’s parmagiana everything at Mom’s. The family style salad and warm Italian bread were the only thing worth the visit. The service was more than friendly but less than informative. Places like Mom’s can be a real find if the food is good, but this NJ shore institution makes me understand why people line up at the Olive Garden.
Restaurant has gone down hill!. Been going to Mom’s kitchen 2x/year every year and unfortunately, they have really gone down hill. First, there was only one waitress working for an entire lunch shift. We had to set our own places, wait for 30 minutes just place and order and it got worse from there. The soup was barely average and delivered to the table by an elderly man with his thumb in the soup bowl – eewww! Then, we had to ask 3 times for bread which never came. Finally, when the food was served, the taste was terrible. The tomato sauce was so rancid it rendered the meals inedible. When we complained, they weren’t willing to make any concessions. We will not be going back! It’s a shame, because for decades the food was fresh and tastey, the service was good and you would enjoy the place – no more.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Had reservation for 7:30pm. We were 8 people. So i know sometimes that can be a issue. But the waitress had an attitude from the beginning, they are too cheap to have anthing but sweet and low in the place. First we ordered and got our salads. They were good from there, it was a nightmare. Waitress was avoiding our table came back a few minutes after we ordered to tell us they were out of shrimp, the people affected re-ordered. After that the waitress avoided us again, I remember maybe once we flagged her down for refills, meanwhile wondering were our food was, talking and not realizing how much time had past, we were noticing the people around us that sat down while we were eating our salads, were getting there food already. Finally, after flagging down the waitress she had nothing to tell us. Then an hour past. Finally the food started to come out. at 9:30 pm. The pasta sauce was burnt, noone had a good meal. the side of pasta everyone got was not even hot, namely the ravolis, the 5 out of the eight of us that got our meal had issues with them. We flagged the waitress down, and she took the pasta, never to bring it back. Then the final 3 people finally got there meal. Not believing this was happening we finally decided to see the owner. After a 20 minute disussion the person that got up from the table came back to finish hers and said that they were going to do something with the check. They brought it over about 15 minutes later with $25.00 taken off. That didn’t even cover what one person got. We said to each other, no tip. What does everybody owe, and the waitress came back and said, where’s the check, she said can I have it, we gave it to her, and she said your good have a nice night. We left a tip after that but at least we didn’t have to pay for our 3 hours from hell at that resturant. Never will go there again!
The worst ever eaten, bad service. the food is horrible we ordered pasta with a meat sauce the sauce was acidy and there wasnt any meat . portion are way too small for there prices and quality is horrible put a shame on italian food.
