Good eat out place gone bad to worst.. I was a BIG fan of this Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant as it is close my friends place in Dayton. BUT, 1) the service is SO BAD these days, looks like after the management change it is going BAD to WORSE. 2) I wish the guys who started this location stayed back as these new people don’t know how to manage and mainly they cannot recognize returning customers AT ALL. 3) These people behave as if they are doing us a favor.4) The quality of food also has degraded very badly, sometimes I have tasted chicken gone bad here.5) If you are ordering for a family with kids, forget about it. I would not advice you to go here as the food really spicy and they cant do much about it. None of your kids will eat food here.6) Don’t waste your time and money, instead go to the location in New York. Good Service.7) Saturday or Sunday – Don’t even think about it 🙂 . Take my advice, you will be treated like a …….!I hope these people read these reviews and change this place to visit again.
Cheap food – Anjappar express. Cheap rotten lunch buffet!!!!Stopped by Anjappar express (Iselin) for its brand name. They had rotten food – really. No kidding. I love anjappar’s spicy food available in the dinner menu and thats the reason I stopped by. They had a prawn masala and that was the only gravy item. No chicken or mutton gravy to eat with parotta, dosa and biryani. No prawn in the masala – the guy at the counter just replies that the chef decided to do this for today and thats what they have. Wow! Well planned that the owners decided not to show up. AC does not work – a fan across the billing counter.Same rotten old strawberry icecream and dried up kesari.I didnt expect such a cheap food from the Anjappar brand. If you cant afford to run a restaurant just dont offer a lunch buffet.

Terrible. Drove all the way to North Brunswick (middle of nowhere) for this crappy place. The place was bad on all counts – cleanliness, service, food. The plates and glasses were dirty. The people acted as though they were doing us a favor by keeping the place open. I hoped that at least the food would be good. We were sorely disappointed. Fish fry was burnt fish.Chicken 65 was an oil soaked sponge.Curries were a sad excuse of half ground, hurriedly boiled mush. The only remotely authentic item was the parotta.Pathetic experience in such a well known restaurant from Tamil Nadu.
Great spicy food!!. Yesterday i made a trip to the newly opened anjappar branch in iselin, its a take out place/dine by yourself place a la local pizza shops/chinese reestaturants, highly enjoyed the food, the mutton varuaval was killer,l, so was the mutton biryani..chicken 65 was so so..i recommend paradise’s 65..parottas were excellent..fresh made with the correct amount of fluffiness…overall pretty good..and yeah very spicy..just the way chettinad cuisine is supposed to be..will try the fish fry next time…bit pricey but quality is excellent..
Anajappar Express is Junk. We visited its new banch called Anjappar Express in Green Street, NJ. Let us share our experience. This is a brand new restaurant came in Green Street opposite to another bad restaurant Abiruchi. As Abiruchi serves bad food, I always have to drive a mile to Oak Tree road for Karaikudi Chettinad or Dakshin Express to eat good South Indian Non-veg food, so I was badly looking for this new restaurant to open. But I was too disappointed with my experience today with this Anjappar Express. For this takeout place, the prices are way higher. My husband went inside and ordered few stuff, and wanted to dine in. The owner type guy with Spectacle said that though we have tables here we prefer our customers to takeout, very rude. The chicken masala, was not at all anything to do Chettinad, the $12.99 expensive briyani had no taste, $13.95 Mutton Sukka was bland and they did not even bother to heat the stuff. Forget the food, Service is very bad. The person at the front is not friendly. There is no value for the money with the food as well as service. Good Chettinad/South Food, go to Karaikudi Chettinad or Dakshin Express. Dakin Express is fresh and tasty food. Bottom-line is Better to Stay away fro this Franchise Anjappar Express Junk
