Fantastic for Brides!. I’m not sure what all the negative reviews The Bake Works gets is about. I wonder if they have separate bakers who take care of their bridal end and their store-front end. I had a fantastic time doing my cake tasting there for my upcoming wedding and every slice of cake my fiancee and I tried was moist, flavorful, and delicious! Admittedly, I’ve never bought anything from their storefront though, so perhaps that’s why they get such mixed reviews. All the brides (on theknot and weddingwire) rave about this bakery but regular customers don’t seem so impressed.
Pass!. The place is bright and clean looking. I was convinced that I would be enjoying a half decent cupcake here, but sadly that was not the case. the customer service was ok, though they charged me an extra 50 cents for a credit card charge under $10 (which is illegal by the way). so- the treats… apparently the cupcake case is refrigerated, I noticed condensation on the goods in there. I thought that was a little off putting. I’ve never been to a bakery that refrigerates it’s baked goods, why would you have to if they’re fresh? regardless, my husband and I chose a respectable chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing, my daughters had chocolate chip cookie dough cake pops. and now I realize why you don’t refrigerate cupcakes at a bakery. the frosting was so hard that it couldn’t be eaten in the same bite with the cupcake. you had to take a bite of cupcake and break off (yes, BREAK OFF!) a piece of icing to go with it. then the icing… I have a lot of experience with buttercream as the mother of two girls and a baker myself and this butter tasted stale. not as bad as previously frozen butter, but close. and it was gritty. awful and shameful for them. the chocolate cake was bland at best. the cake pops were too hard and too sweet. and my whole family who loves sweet treats didn’t finish their treats, which I think has never happened before. that in itself speaks volumes.
Beautiful Cakes. We ordered a birthday cake here because we saw the website and wanted something special. The cake looked great! The flavor was Raspberry Lemonade. It was a light moistly lemon cake with a flavorful raspberry jam filling. The buttercream was nice, not too sweet. I want to try all the flavors of cake, can’t wait until the next birthday.
Wonderful Tasting AND Looking Cake. I ordered a cake for an event from The Bake Works and was so happy with the result. It was exactly what I wanted, designwise, and it tasted amazing! The staff was very plesant and the bakery is BEAUTIFUL. Keep up the good work!!!

CARDBOARD CAKE. If you like the taste of cardboard.ENJOY!!!! Worst cake I’ve ever eaten. They definitely need a new baker!!!
