Pancake Eck!. When the Pancake Palace opened on Franklin Ave, what a year, two years ago, I was stoked! I expected their pancakes to be kick ass- but nope, it was super disappointing! I have to be honest. The Palace was just meh or a place to straight up avoid altogether. The pancakes, which I guess is their gimmick, were simply pancakes made straight from the boxSave yourself the dough (*pun) and go up to ShopRite and make them yourself. They’re nothing special at all. The dcor itself is incredibly boring. The peach sponge painted wall behind the bar is reminiscent of the early 80s and the exposed brick wall is begging for some artwork. I suggested to the owner to create a partnership with the high school art classes and display some students work on the wallhe seem excited about the idea, but if you walk by you’ll notice he didn’t take my advice. Meh. No music plays in the back ground, no artwork on the wallsboring, like their pancakes. If you’re Jonesin’ to eat out, head up to the Chestnut Street Caf where there’s great food and atmosphere or go over to Farm 2 Bistrothe Pancake Palace is a complete bust.
