Hidden Gem. I went to La Mezzaluna with a friend and it was a great place to meet up for dinner. The decor was urban minimalist but it was also warm and inviting. Oddly enough, we were the only patrons in the restaurant until about 6:30pm… we were wondering if the restaurant is new and people just didn’t know about it yet or maybe b/c it was a Monday evening.Either way, our meal was fantastic! We each had the pumpkin ravioli which wasn’t what I expected but delicious nonetheless. The pumpkin filling was slightly sweet and contrasted nicely with the chopped, salted zucchini and butter sauce. I’m big on the salty-sweet combo and this hit the mark perfectly. Not too sweet, not too salty. It was just right. We followed the appetizer with a fresh Tre Colore Salad with berry vinaigrette. The salad had apple wedges and fresh mozzarella as well. They seriously need to consider bottling the berry dressing. It was off the charts good! For the meal, I chose the rigatoni vodka and it has to be the best vodka sauce I’ve ever tasted! My friend ordered the Quartro Formaggi risotto and also thoroughly enjoyed her meal. We skipped dessert simply because we were so full. I will definitely be back and will recommend highly to others. Excellent!

For us, a rare find. An Italian restaurant that dosent rely on spaghetti and meatballs or chicken/veal parm. Soup was wonderful and seafood risotto was well done. Scallops and shrimp were properly cooked, calamari was overdone/rubbery. We’d come back

Great Apps. Went there a little too early for dinner so ordered several apps instead–everything was delicious. Their bread was just so-so but the oil they served with it was good. The staff was very friendly.

Hidden Treasure. On a rainy cold wednesday afternoon last week my husband and I went to La Mezzaluna. We did not want pub food which is prevailant all over Princeton. We wanted a little more upscale menu with a true chef. We wandered into La Mezzaluna and had an amazing lunch. Fresh, interesting, delicious and hot are the adjectives to use. Everything from the amazing bread to the dessert was spectacular. The waiter was very professional and did something a pro waiter does, he suggested for us. We tried the pumpkin ravioli which was so tasty and light. Then we had a house salad that was perfectly chilled and the grilled seafood topping was right on target. My husband chose Risotto which is something I never ever would choose and found out I love risotto.La Mezzaluna makes homemade gelato out of skim milk. It is decadent and worldclass. The entire meal was so satisfying. We left a cold dreary day much happier peopel because of La Mezzaluna. It is clean, smells nice, nice white table cloths, clean shiny cutlery and professional staff and kitchen. We will be back and so should everyone!
