An Icon in Raritan!. This is the thing you have to know about As You Like It: it’s basically a mom ‘n’ pop, tiny ice cream shop. It’s been an icon in Raritan for God only knows how long. Please don’t misunderstand; these reasons alone make it THE spot to go on any given night. There are times the line is out the door & wrapped around the corner. Most times, though, there is a steady flow of customers. It’s one of those places you’re happy to have in your town. On a negative note, it is VERY tiny inside & therefor isn’t much room for the 2 tables that are in there. When it’s especially busy, you kind-of need to have an idea about what you want before you go-it’s just too small to stand around to decide. The ice cream isn’t anything incredible; it’s just Welsh Farms. So for me, the draw to go to As You Like It is the hometown feel. The kids love it & families go to see their friends. It’s the only ice cream shop in town & people seem to be magically drawn to it. Finally for as crowded & busy as it can be, the folks behind the counter move quickly to get your order done. I will wait in line any time at As You Like It than go to the ice cream place & cafe down the road. As You Like It is a nice place that we will frequent as long as we live here & as long as they’re open!
