Very disappointed !!!!. I haven’t been to Espo’s in 15 years ….. decided to meet a friend there tonight because she wanted Italian food. I received 2 Manichotti on my plate …. TWO …. I’m a small woman & don’t eat alot ~~ there should have been a least 4 ~~ The salad ( very small ) was a bit of lettuce, onion, a pepper, & a few croutons. I left there HUNGRY !!!! I saw the same people working there from 15 yrs ago, same owner ~~~ NOT the same portions !! sooooo disappointed !!! Price was not reasonable for what I received ~~ gotta go make myself something to eat, still hungry $16.00 later for my dinner ??????????? What happened Espo’s??????????

I have been coming here for over 30 year, thank goodness some things don’t change. Lots of solid menu items, gravy prepared fresh and plain that enhances the dish and doesn’t overwhelme the main ingredient. Ask for a chilled chianti , a local thing. REMEMBER to bring cash, no cc accepted. A great place to enjoy one solid Italian dish after another!!!

What a disappointment. Heard good things about this place over the years. Went first time today and was incredibly disappointed with the food and service. The bread was stale, the salad just came out of the frig and the lettuce was watery, the eggplant parm was the worst I’ve ever had (doubt very much that it was home-made – tasted like it was the frozen kind you get at the supermarket), chicken cacciatore was drowning in their marinara sauce which was bland and tasteless. Service was poor. We came in at 7:30 and were the last table left. Someone started smoking at the bar while we were finishing our meal. Never again.

Never Disappoints. This neighborhood Italian Bar/Restaurant was recommended to us over 35 years ago – when we lived in NJ…Have been there too many times to count!!! Never disappointed!!! It is always as advertised–what should be hot is VERY hot and what should be COLD is cold! It’s like grandma is in the kitchen—-the tastes are consistent and always good.A hidden gem – I always visit here when we go back to NJ–we are now in Florida and miss this place! The menu rarely changes and I recommend EVERYTHING! Personally my favorites are Steak Parm. Braciole(watch out for the strings). pasta with Clam Sauce, stuffed peppers or anything else on the menu!Don’t pass on the word – I want to be able to eat there whenever I am nearby!P>S> My kids feel the same — see photo

Waste of 34 dollars. On Sat Feb 19th 2011 I did a carryout of 2 normal entrees: spag with meathballs and chicken parm dinners. I told the person on the phone clearly, twice, please prepare the pasta AL DENTE. I bring the entrees to the hotel with my girlfriend, she like her meatball, my chicken parm was overcooked, and the pasta was mushy. The sauce was like they just opened a can of tuttorosso tomatoes and poured it all over the way overcooked pasta. I am not sure why some people rave about this place. JUST GETTING TO WHERE I COULD PICK UP MY CARRYOUT WAS AN ORDEAL, THE PLACE WAS SO CRAMPED. There has got to be a fire hazard violation or two, because no way can all those patrons safely leave that cramped restaurant in the event of fire. I heard good stuff about this place from several people, but I, speaking for myself, will NEVER spend a dime there again.

Classic. Love this place. Been here forever and crowded for a reason. Traditional home style italian dishes. Bracioli is out of this world.

Yes. Small out of the way place, crowded (but that just means it is good) had the chicken parm nearly perfect (nothing is perfect) over all a positive experience
