We have been to Baia’s twice during season for dinner. Both times the food and service were excellent. Our server last night, Chris, was terrific. I messed up what I ordered and he handled it perfectly. We will be back.
I would love to tell you how the food was but I never got that far! Made a reservation but aparantly they don’t know what that means since the nasty hostess told us it was over an hour wait! Asked to see the manager who explained that a lot of boats of people had come in & taken all the tables but he may be able to get us a seat in half hour. Explained that the hostess was nasty because she’s usually not the hostess, ok then I guess it’s fine then? Will not be going back to actually try the food!
Good Food, Decent Service. Baia had good food and decent service. Despite the previous reviews we liked the place. We loved the previous restaurant ‘the inlet’ and although this is different , it is still good.
Sat on the outside deck, which is more barfood than entrees for dinner. Food was still very good but not a lot to choose from. My meal was a salad &grilled shrimp kabobs &both were pretty good. The service was terrible &it was a Wednesday night. Overall, menu could use some additions &the service was very subpar. Undecided if I would go back.
Okay, read the reviews and was a little weary. Usually will not touch a place unless it’s around 80% or higher. But other than the hostess telling us we would have to wait with out a reservation and did not check the computer, after I was just told we could be seated immediately… Whatever. Got seated waitress very attentive to detail. Asked for a bone dry grey goose martini, that’s what I got. Appetizer came out fast crab stuffed mushroom and hot! Good taste better than most. Food came out in reasonable time, not rushed. Got the veal milanase with egg plant and the veal parm. Both excellent. The second starch with the veal milanase didn’t make sense. The pasta with the veal parm had big tender pieces of garlic light red sauce with perfectly cooked aldente pasta. Pleasently surprised would come again. Oh, had entertainment not bad. As for the prices inline and competitive with other restaurants with similar fare. Thanks to our wait staff and Serena our waitress, we had a great experience. Will ask for her again.
Good food but..they need work. Let me start by saying our waitress Alyson was wonderful,pleasant and very helpful.The front door is in need of major customer service training. The girl who is the hostess with the short dark hair is utterly miserable and is in need of a career change. The blonde hostess only further takes her lead by informing us if we didn’t like our seat to take it up with her … Needless to say the view and atmosphere was wonderful once we settled in. The food was excellent and hot. I ordered the bay scallops and crab over gnocchi with a blush sauce.my husband ordered the grouper. They were out of the super Tuscan wine on the menu but the substitution was excellent. My daughter had the shrimp and fries which was plentiful. overall we gave it an 8
THIS PLACE REALLY IS TWISTED. This restaurant is nothing but mass confusion. Checking in as a party of 2 with an OpenTable reservation they tried to tell us we were a party of 6. The waiter did not know much about the menu or have any useful suggestions. My wife started with a house salad and I had the seafood chowder which were average. My wife had the shrimp and pasta entree and I had the snapper. My snapper was good but my wife’s shrimp were very undercooked and slimy. Since the waiter never came back to check on us, we had to track him down to send her entree back. They claimed they remade the dish but we could tell they didn’t. The shrimp were still undercooked and shiny. We did not bother to see what they had for dessert and just settled the check and left. When we got home my wife checked on OpenTable and the restaurant had cancelled our reservation on OpenTable and she did not receive her points. After 2 calls to the restaurant they finally strightened it out.
