Tried this restaurant for lunch today. Located right off US 206, it is very accessible and very easy to locate. Ordered a Chole Bhatura which was a pleasant surprise. Bhatura wasnt oily as I expected it to be and was in fact very well cooked. Got some pickle as an accompaniment and the Chole was tasty as well. Need to try their lunch platters and also their Indo-Chinese dishes soon.

Hurry Chutney is probably one of the most go to Indian destination for people around Hillsborough, Raritan and Somerville. I wouldn’t say its the best Indian place around but its conveniently located on 206 which makes it a crowd puller. Its not very big – they seat around 30-40 people. It is quite full on weekdays with people coming over to have lunch with their office mates. Getting a seat during lunch time is a pain which is why we usually call them for takeaway and bring food back to the office. Coming to food, they have several good options for lunch in what is called a lunch platter. They usually post the days menu on FB which is quite cool and they mix things up from day to day. Its usually 3 veggies and 3 non-veg platters ranging from paneer to shrimp. The platter has rice, dal a curry of your choosing and 1 piece of naan. It costs around $11 which is okay and is usually good. The biriyani here is also quite good. They are also famous for snacks – especially chaats. Raj Kachori Chaat is a personal favorite of mine. They also have the usual dahi puri, pani puri, vada pax, pav bhaji, samosa, chicken manchurian, etc. The list is actually quite extensive featuring other Indian and Chinese appetizers. Mango lassi here is also good – not your usual lassi but is quite good. Apart from that, they also have sweets, which I have personally never tried – but have heard good feedback. They don’t serve alcohol but they have BYOB which also makes it a good place for an office team get together.A few things I would want to improve – serving time – which is usually longer than you would think and can be quite irritating. The prices too could be slightly lower. But these things do not stop me from going there every week.In conclusion, good food, conveniently located and a ton of options. A decent place for those who crave Indian food.

The food is good, a bit too pricy for the place. The service is poor, and the host is unpleasant. The take out quantities that they promise for each tray is not even close to actuals. A tray for 30 ( their count) will be enough for 7-8.
