Bland, Bland, Bland. Second visit. Food is basic. Nothing really special. The blue cheese dressing tasted like sour cream. Everything tasted bland.Service was average and polite. I guess the burgers are ok. First time there the meal (chicken) was uncooked. Had to send it back. Will not give it a third try.

Really? It’s not as good as the pretend Foodies claim it to be.. We went back in Nov for my husband’s birthday, and we went there moreso for me badgering him rather than the Hubby wanting to go. We were all let down. The decor was lovely, and even the presentation of the food was great. However, the way the food tastes outweighs the way it looks anytime. The food was basic, I kept seeing something about the Fried tomato, and it was bland. I heard they had excellent sushi, pricey and I could get it at makoto down the street, maybe it was because that was the first week the sushi guy started. Try again…Um…one of us had a not impressive burger, One chicken and spinach thing…looked nice…I guess? BUT IT WAS DRY AND OVERCOOKED to hell and my poor husband was hungry afterwards because it was like the size of a chicken tender. OVERPRICED AND BASIC. I will probably wind up there again mostly bc someone is going to want to go there down the line, but if by choice, NO THANKS.

We sat at the bar to get a beer and some sushi. The bartenders looked miserable and it took forever to get a menu. After we finally ordered, the bartender gave us one giant plate of sushi, which was fine, but no napkins and no small plates. So we dribbled over one plate like slobs, stealing cocktail napkins since getting any service was impossible. The sushi was filled with the cheaper ingredients– avacado in some, cucumber in others. No sign of the main ingredient, like salmon.Owner walks around angry. Being a person who has worked in restaurants for many years through high school and college, and even after, I have a 6th sense for terrible bosses and owners. This guy clearly makes his staff miserable, which I will absolutely blame for the poor service.

Half Bar, Half Sushi, plus a restaurant. Yes, thats more than one direction – tough to be good at all three.I went on a weekday around 5PM. I was seated immediately, server came right over. She was pleasant and took my drink order.By the.time she brought the drink, I had made my choice. Guacamole app and Strip steak with au Poibre Sauce.Salad came first on a nice cool plate. Guacamole arrived before salad was consumed, but it was very good and a large portion.Stark arrived without sauce, it goes back to the.kitchen and returns 4-5 minutes later. Sauce is good but I think steak is now closer to medium rather than medium rare as I had ordered it.I think I will go back again and give it another try.

The renovation is very nice but when it comes down to it, in the end the food is all that really matters. As beautiful as this restaurant is the dishes that we ordered were not good. The lack of quality and flavor is being hidden by overwhelming heat in every dish.

Caution: Element is Hot. Newly opened Element occupies the former LAs. For you oldtimers, the former Old Town Tavern. The dcor is city modern and downright beautiful. The tables are widely spaced. Our server though inexperienced, was very pleasant. The sushi was delish and priced right. The kitchen still has some kinks to work out (and with Chef Shannon at the helm they will) but when you consider how massive this place is, it’s understandable at the moment. I’m pleased to see an independent restaurant like this in an area becoming saturated with chains. This will no doubt become an area favorite for many, including myself.
