Finger Lickin’ Good. Always yummy and service is good. As evidenced by the 2 hr waits. If you want to dine inside, heres how to do it. Around 5:30 and no later than 6. Go inside and put your name on the already insanely long waiting list. Drive over to the Quelle and sit on the deck and kick back some Hacker Schorr Weisse on tap and enjoy the breeze and your companion(s) company. 90 mins later drive back to Mud city and wait a little more. You should be seated around 8 and get the Garlic crabs.

How to Beat the 2 Hour Wait. We went on a Sunday in July before 12 noon so we could beat the crowd and long wait to be seated. I ordered the Blue Crabs in garlic. Delicious but messy! By the time I was done the kids had already finished dessert.
Great food, but noisy. The seafood is great, but the restaurant can be really loud – would actually recommend eating outside on busy nights. Between this place and the Black Whale, I’d choose to drive to Beach Haven just for the better atmosphere, but there’s nothing wrong with the food here.
Best Crab on the Island!. I have always came here when i stayed in LBI every summer and i was never dissapointed! The crab cakes are the best i’ve had in a long time. The outside was crunchy and golden brown and the inside was soft and flavorful. The clam strips are also very good. I’ve never tried the infamous blue crab which eeryone on the island raves about but i plan to in future trips to Mud City. The best of the best when it comes to seafood on the Jersey Shore!
