Bland. The food was just bland tasting with no flavor or spice at all, and the chicken seemed a bit undercooked. The only positive was that the prices were not too bad. I usually eat every last bit of my meals, but I was unable to in this case. I ended up spiking the food into the robocan so hard, I think I might have woken up my grandmother. And she’s been dead for 15 years.
I love this place. Great food and low prices. The portion size is huge. I order 1 burrito for 2 people( HAVE A PICTURE TO PROVE HOW BIG A PORTION IT IS). It is a great price and always tastes homemade. I live right down the street and happy I do!
Fabulous Discovery!. Traveling back from the Jersey shore we got caught in a storm on the GSP and decided to look for a restaurant along Rte 9 – and we found this place. As long time NYC residents and foodies, expectations were low and boy were we wrong– IT IS FANTASTIC and wish we lived closer! Everything was homemade – starting with the salsa and the hot sauce (bottled was available, but why use it?) Tamales were the best we can remember and had no ground meat only pieces — The mocajete was amazing, unique and large enough for two. So was the serving of ribs . The waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful. It is a BYOB, and with our wine she prepared an amazing pitcher of sangria with fresh fruit and juice — and all for $3 charge!Be prepared to wait as everything is made to order and they also seem to have a large take out business – we recommend ordering a salad or appetizer while deciding on the rest. And again, it is all worth the wait. Do not know what that one negative review experienced by we recommend they give it another try — we wish it was as easy for us to come back!!We were too full for desserts but still shared a flan which was absolutely delicious.Hope to learn that the owners/chef will be opening another restaurant farther north!
Great!. We frequent Azteca quite often…usually for take out and we have never been disappointed! Friendly staff, great food and huge servings…at low prices! Keep up the great work!
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Avoid 1 – 45 minute wait in an empty restaurant for food?Avoid 2 – Luke warm to cold food once servedAvoid 3 – Growl at coupon usage from Ocean DealsNot sure how people gave this place glowing reviews. Get out and try other Mexican places that really try. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!
