The year was 1984. Bob Tumolo, a Philadelphia firefighter, sold Italian Ice from a small porch window in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. With the modest goal of earning a little extra income, he named the business after his wife, Rita. Today, Rita's has become a symbol for the start of warm weather festivities. Rita's is all about Ice, Custard, and Happiness!
