  Bad for Business. Let me state that I have always had a great time at Katmandu and Rho before. However, despite the fact that several people from my group called the night before to inquire about the cover charge policy, management did not honor the time limit. We were all told that a cover charge would not be required if we got there by 7 pm. We got there before 7 but was then told that the cover charge was now being taken at 6:30 pm. One of my friends who had gotten there earlier, spoke to the manager who refused to rescind the charges. Then I asked to speak to the manager and the security guard lied and directed me to a female employee who was not the boss. I said that that wasn’t the manager since my friend had already spoken to him. It turned out that the manager was standing behind me, without identifying himself. When I protested the cover charge, he said he did it because it was raining and the band was being moved inside. I told him that that was bad business practice but it did not matter to him. He said he couldn’t do anything for me and still refused to refund the money.My friends and I had a great time with the band anyway but it left a very bad taste in everyone’s mouths. I have never gone to a club where the management arbitrarily changed the time of the cover charge. I told him that it was wrong, that he could have noted the change on the club’s website and that he should have inform his employees to state that the cover charge policy could change when people called. I also told him that everyone would be telling their friends about this too. Therefore, It appears that although the restaurant is repositioning itself for a more upscale clientele, its attitude towards its patrons is disrespectful and unprofessional. I am disappointed because Rho has so much more potential but will turn off people it this situation continues.If you want people to come, you have to be consistent and fair. What a shame!

  Bad idea!. My first and last visit! great location and beautiful senerie, but the aggravation and attitude all over! We wait 1 hour just get a bread basket, we had to ask for drink refills, then the food came out in a few meals at a timme the last person in our party was served well after 15minutes after the first. Meanwhile my meal was served cold. i sent it back they returned it barely warm while the side was cold. I told the waiter and caught the biggest attitude ever. I stood up asked for the manager who actually argued with me and me I was wrong. Seriously, do not go here. Our bill was over $230 and I have got to say I have had better service at Kmarts.

  First visit, likely last visit. Perhaps the best thing I can say about Rho is the decor is a vast improvement over the former Katmandu. The food? Not so much. We were seated and waited several minutes before our server approached us to take a drink order. We then waited another long while before she came back to take our food order. The lunch menu is rather limited and I chose a burger – medium rare. I noted that sweet potato fries were offered with a lunch special and when I asked if I could sub them in place of regular fries I was told no. My medium rare burger came and when I cut into it it was medium to medium-well. *sigh* I sent it back asking for it be redone. The second burger arrived – medium to medium-well again. I was hungry and my companion was making headway on his meal, so I reluctantly ate the overdone burger. I never thought I’d miss Katmandu – but I do miss their menu, especially the chicken sandwich with boursin and the ‘island fries’. Italian restaurants (as this is supposed to be) are a dime a dozen in Jersey, did we really need another?I had a giggle over their monitors above the bar advertising bottle service. Really? This is Trenton, New Jersey. Get over yourself – you’re a mediocre Italian restaurant with a nightclub in the evenings. Pretentious much?I left less than impressed. I doubt I’ll bother to come back.
