Consistently Good. Any New Jerseyian knows, diners are the staple of local restaurants. And Washington Diner is consistently good for all the typical diner favorites. What does that mean? Breakfasts are awesome — from huge 4-egg omelets of your choice served with heaps of hash browns and toast, to extra thick French toast and sausage links thick as bratwurst, this is all good eats. Lunches and luncheon food — sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads — are all good hearty meals. But if you’re looking for a fine steak or fresh lobster, you are looking in the wrong place. It’s better to order the spaghetti marinara, the meatloaf and mashed potatoes or the turkey dinner because that’s what they do. Basic, no-frills food, done well. Also, to keep up with current trends, they do offer a good chicken Cesar Salad, either traditional or as a wrap and some appetizers like the chicken quesadilla.
