I am so sorry I didnt take pictures of our food! This place is First Class – Top Shelf a must to do Resturant with a great menu – staff 1st Class! I will add pictures next time we had a light dinner and had the seafood platter and then incredible French Soup! Oh the cliff view of NYC is priceless!
Need to retrain or teach courtesy to the reservation clerks. I just dont care about anything or to say anything until I get to the place so I can give my reviews about the food, which comes after the reservations.Every time I called for either to reserve or cancel my reservations for Dinner. It looked like they r doing me a favor.LIKE WE R HIGHLAWN PAVILION AND WE DON’T REALLY NEED U.WE R DOING U GUYS A FAVOR BY RESERVING THE TABLE FOR U.So how would I really get thru the first process of getting to the restaurant if this is the way I am treated to experiment the food.I have been to this place and to the Manor about 15 times over the last 5 years.I keep on saying leave it alone but I would like to take the time to explain that this is not right and is not Communism that we cannot find any other place to eat.For new years I booked a table for 7, they booked it but not with any courtesy.I said it is o.k. like all times. But my friends dropped out and I had to cancel.Immediately the attitude came out again and I am writing this review so the management’s eyes open up to do something about it.It is a nice place and the food is good, but I will now think twice before going there again.
Sad & Disappointed. It was a terrible disappointment for my Mom’s 85th Birthday. We have been to this resturant several times since the opening about 25 years ago, and have always enjoyed the atmosphere & food. However last night upon arriving it did not seem up to par. The decor seems they can use some freshening up or even a good cleaning. The food proved to be a further let down-from the start the oysters-were mealy and warm; the Crab cocktail tasted old and defrosted: tasteless fresee salad; and a mish mash entree of some sort of crab and lobster rissoto in a overly seasoned saffron cream sauce with fish filet dropped on top! Not the special dinner I had in mind. The dessert proved nothing better-with the cheesecake (and Birthday candle) tasting again grainy-with freezer burn! Since this was my Mom’s celebration I did not want to get into it and spoil our celebration. Resturants come and go and have off nights-but I prefer not at my expense. As one of the resturants under The Manor umbrella I feel they should take a good look at this management/staff at the Highlawn-it is a disgrace that they have neglected one of their own.
