Doesn’t have guacamole and doesn’t serve margaritas and you have to pay for chips and salsa. We ordered the chips and salsa and the salsa was ok..it was spicy but the chips were not very good. We left after eating only a few chips.
I love <3 El Charritos when I go in the staff is always so nice and welcoming the food Is delicious and the atmosphere is so wonderful/ very clean!!!! The prices are decent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are driving around town or if your from out of town this is the place to go !!
Great food excellent no matter what time of day I go I’m always treated like family!
Private Party Blues. I’ve always enjoyed El Charritos, and was pleased when my son recommended the restaurant for our weekly Wednesday dinner together. We arrived to find that one of the dining rooms was closed for some type of private party. We were told to take our pick of tables in the other dining room. A waitress promptly took our drink orders, beverages were served, and dinner was ordered. So far, so good. Then everything went sideways. Often there was no help on our side of the dining room, and dinner took about 45 minutes to arrive, which is quite long for a weekday in Albuquerque. I ordered cheese enchiladas on blue corn tortillas with red and green chile, and my son ordered cheese enchiladas with red chile. The food that arrived was room temperature, as were the plates. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the entrees being served, but there is no excuse for serving room temperature New Mexican food. I weighed asking a waitress to get the food re-heated, but the restaurant was so understaffed that I decided it would be best if we cut our losses. We waited at least 20 minutes for anyone to ask us if we needed anything or were ready for our check, and my son finally had to flag someone down to request the check and a couple of go boxes. If you are going to host a private party and accept walk-ins, management is responsible for scheduling extra help. Sadly, this didn’t happen.
Didn’t particularly like or dislike. Huge portions but not wowed by flavors other than the sopaipillas which were delectable
Really, really good!. The west side doesn’t have all the choices for New Mexican food that you can get in town but this place has good food. I had the chicken enchiladas smothered in green with an over easy egg on top and wasn’t dissappointed. The chile was hot and chicken was tender and juicy. The portions are also generous. The only downside was that they charge for chips and salsa. Great place and great service!
Pretty good new mexican dishes. the red chile is extra garlicy which is great flavor.
