Money well spent…. An awesome spot for brunch, lunch or dinner. You can stuff yourself without putting a big dent in your wallet. It is street food style dining – with the option to sit down and eat it there. With .99 cent tacos (or .75 cents for specials) you can’t go wrong. Several varieties: chicken, beef, pork, fish, shrimp, served with cilantro, onions, fresh salsa, radishes and escabeche. The ceviche tostada would make a lovely light lunch – or an awesome appetizer. DIshes like the #23 Alambre (think a-little-bit-of-everything fajitas) are big enough for two. They serve fountain sodas and agua frescas – or Coca-Cola in glass bottles from Mexico (made with sugar – not corn syrup). You can finish off your meal with fruit, or rice pudding. I recommend the place to traveling friends who are tired of tourist trap food – the locals eat here. This is not Anglicanized Mexican food. You get the feeling that this food would be the same if you were sitting in the cook’s mom’s kitchen. Some shifts you’ll need a little Spanish to order. But you’ll get by – and it’s worth it.
Even better than the real thing. Dropped by here today while wandering around the South Valley. Great little Tacos, like the ones I used to get from the street carts in Mexico. They are really small; the Corn Tortillas couldnt be more than 4 inches wide, but this works out because you can sample a variety of them (lots of meat choices) without getting overly full. Plus theyre only 85 cents each, so your wallet barely takes a hit. They also have a full menu with Burritos, Sopes, Tortas, etc. I may have to return just to try the Camarones a la Diabla.
