Ok food, bad service. Food is ok. Service was very poor. 10 minutes for an aknowledgment, 20 minutes for a drink. Management was not interested in hearing it….maybe because they know they’re an established restaurant? I can find the same quality of food, and better, with good service, elsewhere.

First off, the coffee is not good!. This is a local favorite, however I am not a fan. The meats used in their chili are like intestines and super fatty parts of the animals. I prefer not having a balls of fat in my chili as eat. They use a ton of lard in their beans. Not to mention the coffee is horrible and it’s super crowded. I prefer Duran’s Pharmacy, Sadie’s & Caf Azul over Barelas Coffee House.
Mouth watering!. I had been hearing about this place and finally stopped in for lunch. Yes, it was crowded but worth any wait. I had the chicharrones burrito plate smothered in xmas with an extra side of green. Fantastic! This is the place for chicharrone. The chile wasn’t as hot as I like but it was still delicious. Add to that a friendly wait staff as well. I can’t wait to come back for breakfast.
Fabulous. The best New Mexican breakfast.. Huevos rancheros with red chile are the best. Don’t forget the chicharrones. The waitstaff makes you feel like your mom is serving you. not to be missed!!!!
Great Breakfast & Wonderful Service. Went here for breakfast today with some friends and glad we did. I had not been here for ages and it reminded me of just how good everything here is for breakfast. First our server, Julia, was wonderful and attentive and even though they were quite busy she did not make us feel rushed in the least. All our orders were prepared to perfection and the Huevos Deluxe with red chili was excellent! Good coffee, too.
Perfect Lunch. Our Albuq. visit complete after lunch at Barelas coffee House. Excellent chilies and new mexican plates to go with the friendly service. We’ll be back often.
