GREAT FOOD. I am extremely upset the way people write bad about others on a website about a restaurant this is not facebook. I have eaten at Montano’s plenty of times and I love their food and their help there is extremely nice and heplfull. So to all you insecure haters grow up and keep your mean comments to yourself. From what i understand Mrs Montano is no longer there so ya’ll get over it. Ya I hate homewreckers but we should be adults about this…………GOOD JOB MONTANO’S YOU ALL HAVE THE BEST NEW MEXICAN FOOD IN NEW MEXICO.
Good food.. I know there has been some running commentary aboutthe couple that owned this place. I will only say one thing,The man that owns the place and used to be large. ( a sign of a good cook) lol. But he has lost a large amount of weight over the past few years. Great job, I want your will power. To stand in the kitchen all day cooking good food, and still lose weight. Wow I am here to talk about the place and the food.This is a small mom and pop place like a couple could run without much help. The place has been around a long time. You will get large cups of ice tea to go with the good chips and salsa. Its so good I have ordered it to go for a snack. I rate this New mexican place in the top three for the area.The prices are decent and the red chili is good. For some reason it is darker than I prefer but its tasty with a good bite.A new mexican place has to have a few required things. Good and tasty, chili, beans, salsa and sopapillas. I usually get a beef stuffed sopapilla. And my other half gets the stuffed with chicken. But we have tried other plates. And they are all good choices.
Montano’s Restaurant in Belen, NM. Montano’s Restaurant is the best Mexican food in Valencia County. The shredded pork stuffed sopapilla is to die for. As far as dissing Janet Montano, I think it is a shame that someone is using this site to air their dirty laundry. Haven’t Max and his family been through enough without someone also trying to close the business. Janet is no longer associated with the business. Rate the venue, not Janet.

NOT SO FRIENDLY. Max is a great cook, Janet M on the other hand. If you are looking at getting rid of your husband then yes eat here. Janet will make sure you hubsband is in GOOD HANDS!!! BTW WHERE IS SHE?
