Amazingly Good Chile Rellenos. This restaurant is outstanding for the chile rellenos. It seems difficult to find New Mexican rellenos with the right combination of hot green chile, thin breading and tasty cheese in the metro area lately. Worth the drive. I can’t speak for the other dishes, because the rellenos are so good I haven’t tried them.

Well, I don’t know what to say except I expected something else considering the 95% like factor. It was clean and the staff was extremely kind; however, the food – with the exception of the carna abovado which was delicious – was just mediocre. It may be the style of Mexican food – thick chips but not homemade, thick (and dry) tortillas, and heavy rice. The kids/senior menu is also ridiculously expensive ($6.00-$8.00 and that did not include a drink. I would not go here again given my experience.
Bad Smell; food two stars out of five.. My husband and I went there after having tasted samples at Civic Plaza downtown. The food tastings were delicious. We also received a dinner coupon which was not honored at Abuelita’s in Bernalillo. My review is not based on that. Upon entering the restaurant there was a noticable unpleasant odor. The food was okay. Sadie’s in Albuquerque is still the best.
This little New Mexican diner has remarkable green chile stew! I enjoyed it with a guac taco and a warm tortilla. Great prices, great food!
Stick with the New Mexican dishes & enjoy their thick creamy queso!
