Breakfast Tamales. Excellent paring of tamales and eggs good anytime you are there!

Great green chile. It’s worth checking the menu online ahead of time. Some items are only available after 11, some only until 3. The green chile, either fried in strips as an appetizer or as a sauce on a breakfast entree, is outstanding. I didn’t have any of the issues with service mentioned in other reviews. The pacing between courses was good, and our server was attentive.

A Great Loss on my son’s 42nd birthday. On the evening of June 3 (2014) my wife and I accompanied my son, his wife and three grandchildren for dinner to celebrate my son’s 42nd birthday. I left my hat on the ledge of the booth and my wife had her iPhone in her purse next to her in the booth. I asked the waiter (a young man) to acknowledge my son’s birthday in some way. He ignored my request. After we left the restaurant, I realized I had left my hat, and when we arrived back in Corrales, where we were staying, my wife couldn’t find her iPhone. We called the Range. My hat and the IPhone were not found. We called again the next day with the same response. We are now at our home in Laguna Woods, California, amazed at the loss on a special occasion. J. Jones. My colleagues and I visited the Range Caf in Bernalillo today (04/04/14) between 12:30 and 1:45. We typically visit perhaps once a week or once every other week. Today we were seated near the front where our server was less than attentive. He did seem very attentive and courteous to all of his other tables. It took him considerably long to provide us with requested items. At first, he began by calling us ladies and then changed his terms to you guys. As we were paying, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the service. That is when one of the owners appeared and suggested reimbursing us for our lunch. We certainly did not ask for this, we ate the food and were happy to pay. What I did not appreciate was the owners comments under his breath that (We) You should be more polite when people are trying to help you. Then I observed him approach another patron at the counter to express his distaste for myself and my colleagues. I found this comment very degrading and rude. I do not need the owners help and I am still happy to pay for my meal if necessary. We work in Bernalillo and enjoy frequenting the Range often, however, I will certainly think twice before doing so in the future and perhaps will not have the best things to say about the Range. I am very grateful that the owner was happy to reimburse us for the meal, however, I do not appreciate his lesson on how to be polite. I hope the Range will continue to work on service, customer satisfaction, and people skills as people from all walks of life will enjoy the restaurant in the future. I also did not appreciate the obvious Trans-Phobia present. Transgender people go to lunch too.

Great margaritas. We drive out to the Bernalillo location just for the cool drive up along the railroad tracks, discovered the steak is very good and reasonably priced, prickly pear margaritais excellent, service is good and food is consistent.

Another Great Breakfast. Three of us had breakfast this morning. Only a moderate crowd, with a wait of about 20 minutes, which is good for a Sunday. We arrived before the after-church crowd. I had the carne adovada, green, red on the side, with papa and huevos. As usual, I couldn’t finish my portion. My wife ended up bringing home the two pancakes served with her breakfast. Excellent coffee, as usual. Wait staff prompt, efficient, but never over-bearing. It’s our favorite haunt in Bernalillo, or just about anywhere!

Wonderful huevos rancheros. The huevos rancheros are superb. They use blue corn tortillas and white cheddar cheese which gives it extra style and quality. The chile is very good as are the fried potatoes. The only thing I’d change is the flour tortilla that comes with most of their breakfast dishes; they’re not home made…would be much better if they made their own tortillas. The service is decent. The decor is interesting and will easily bring conversation to the table while you wait for your food. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t tried them out already.
