I noticed there weren’t any recent reviews so here is an update. Food was good, a lot like a Texas Road house. Pretty good salad bar and really good rolls. Service was a little slow but they were busy.
Typical for this area.. Salad bar no issues. But get thisThey actually cut away a quarter sized piece of meat from my pork chop to check if it was done before they served it to me. Really. I cut it at the bone in front of the waitress and it wasn’t cooked all the way. So after cutting meat away from my food they didn’t do it correctly and pork was not done. Pork Chop- Really. Not rocket science.
Good food, no problems with the service. I’m surprised this restaurant has such terrible reviews. Several coworkers and I hit up K-Bob’s and had a good time. The food was good, I had a ribeye with a baked potato and enjoyed all of it. My only complaint would be that the 1/2 LB ribeye is a little on the thin side, the full 1 LB ribeye that a coworker got was perfect though. My table mates that ordered mashed potatoes said they wouldn’t order them again though. K-Bob’s pricing is much better than Dakota’s Steakhouse and having been to both now I don’t really feel that the extra money spent at Dakota’s provides you with a significantly better steak. I know a lot of people have complained about the service. We had no issues with our waitress. I believe that the manager brought our food out (she didn’t say she was the manager but she looked like one) and was very nice.
Used to be a great place to eat!!. Everyone in town couldn’t wait for them to reopen after the fire. Of course, as long as it took, I’m sure all of the cooks and wait staff had gone on to other jobs understandably. New owners and new management and new employees, it’s a completely different restaurant other than the name. Service is horrible!!! The wait staff obviously have never frequented restaurants to know what good service is!! Food is good, but everything else stinks! No common sense with the waitresses. If hot rolls come with a meal, why come out half way through your meal and ask you if you want some rolls??? Of course you do if they come with it! Duh! They give you your plates and you never see them again for refills of drinks or anything else that you may have not received that you ordered. A week ago I tried them one more time and I ordered a salad bar for a meal, most places bring you a chilled plate to go help yourself. This place brought me a hot plate, like straight out of the dishwasher with a major chipped place on the edge. Gross! That is a vector for bacteria!!! If a plate is chipped, throw it away!! Same with a drink glass! Getting your check is very time consuming as well. They need some experienced training!! I guess the new owners don’t have restaurant experience to know any better, but just money to buy restaurants! You’re not doing anybody any good. You are not training your staff to earn the tips they probably need to earn and you’re not doing the community any good because we don’t need irritating restaurant experiences, just good food and service. Wake up rich people!! After about 5 chances, I’m about done with them. Try Ruidoso, their K-B0bs is GREAT!!!!!!!!
The food is great and the service has gotten better but I won’t set foot in that resteraunt until they find a new manager that Laura garner is unbelievably rude to the customers and her staff I think if the owners ever let her go and brought in a real steak house manager they would be a lot better off29 Mar, 2014I have eaten at this resteraunt four times in two months and love the food but have never in my 35 years of working with steak houses and fine restaurants ever and I mean ever had to deal with such horrible service after sitting there for 20 minutes they came and took are order the wait for are meal was fast and was warm and tasted wonderful but when it was time to pay they screwed up are ticket and charged us for twice what we ordered. We asked for the manager and the most and when she got to the table she was rude and started complaining about how her husband left and something about the supervised visits and on and on about not making enough money she stunk of liquor and then offered us free shots and fixed are ticket. Its sad to see such a great meal be destroyed by such horrible service . We will never return to K-bobs of Clovis, N.M. and wouldn’t recommend this joke of a resteraunt to anyone.
Not as bad as the reviews. A few of us are TDY here from Florida and we decided to go out for steaks. Well K-Bob’s was the closest to our hotel so we looked up some reviews. The reviews were so bad that one person in our group (You know who you are! cough Dandes cough) decided not to go. We took the leap of faith and went anyways. The three of us were seated as soon as we got there. Our drinks came out in a timely manner and after the waitress took our order we pulled out the old cell phone timer. 22 minutes later our steaks came out and none of us had any complaints. The garlic mashed potatoes were not the best but I’ll just try a different side next time. I would recommend going to K-Bobs at least once and make your own opinion.
Amazing. Went there to eat while traveling through town. The steak I had was amazing! Great flavor and cooked to perfection. My wife had the salad wagon and she loved it. I remember eating at K-Bobs when I was a kid and this restaurant held true to the good memory I have. A definate must try.
