Probably the most mixed review I’ll ever do. Went a while back on Veteran’s Day. My wife and I are both veterans, so they generously gave us both free meals. We had to purchase the salad bar for extra, which of course was no issue. Chicken fried steak was very good, and the salad bar had roasted jalapeos and good dressing. Salad bar was the star of the show and was crafted in an expert manner. Overall experience was great. Fast forward….Parents came for a visit and we went for a good meal, based on our initial visit. Man what a change. Steaks cooked incorrectly, stuffed mushrooms broiled way too long, server didn’t have a clue about the menu or serving sizes. Manager was scolding some servers up at the entry area about something while we waited to be seated. Very unprofessional. There were 8 total, and our bill was well over $110. Bad experience for the price of a single meal. Haven’t even thought about going back. Never ever see the parking lot full, so maybe others are seeing the negatives. The most disappointing thing is that it went from a great lunch experience to an awful lunch experience between 2 visits. I’ll stick with the Clovis staples of the lunch box and baby Jay’s. First trip to k-bobs was a 5, second was a 0….A large, round, fat 0, which according to my math, is a 2.5 average. I think I’m being fair and honest. I’ll give free tips to whoever in management wants to listen..,… Don’t hire rookies to run a restaurant, be professional for your customers, train employees to strive for perfection, hire only those who are willing to work for customer satisfaction, and represent the owners well who paid a good stack of cash in an attemp to have a successful business. I’m more than fed up with bad restaurants in Clovis. I mean, how hard can it be to be professional and try your best? For a steak fix, I’d rather get a steak burrito a taco Bell than a steak at this place.
A couple of months ago Rick and I went into K Bobs in Clovis, NM. It was terrible! We have been there before and it was great. Rick and I ordered at New York strip. We both receive very bad Rib eye steaks. I hate Rib Eye. My daughter Kasara was with us and her food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t to K Bobs standards. I talked to the manager and she comp me meal. But i wanted something good to eat. We were very reluctant to try K Bobs again. We did last night. Oh my goodness what a change! We ended up with the same server and the steaks were a great cut of meat. They were cook perfectly and was what we ordered. Rick 14 oz. New York Strip was perfect cut. I had the 7 oz merchant which is part of a New York Strip. Perfect.Great service and I did call the manager over to our table. She told me they changed cooks and that they started cutting their own steaks. So if you haven’t tried K Bobs in a while give them another chance.
Good steaks, friendly service, very tasty salad wagon, and a fair price. The rolls are borderline amazing…I could eat at least 10 if left to my own devices. Happy hour specials and a military discount make this a good option for dinner in Clovis.
