I went to Roma’s Italian Restaurant with my family of 10. The wait time was little to none. They were very welcoming when we arrived. The staff was very friendly, polite, and attentive. The food was simply amazing and the free salad and rolls were great. The bread was fresh and homemade. I ordered the seafood special and to my delight, it was only $15.95. The sauce was made fresh and had terrific flavor! No where in town can you get a plate that great and such a reasonable price. My children ordered pizza, which was also delicious. You could tell it was made fresh and cooked in a brick oven(only one in town). The owner came out and introduced himself and personally thanked us for coming out. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to every one I know. I promise, you will not be disappointed. And they offer a military discount. Great place to take the family or quick on the run.
Eat this!!!. This was the best homemade Italian food I have had in New Mexico. The owner was so friendly and inviting, really a great man. The waitress was great, right on point. I felt like I was at a long lost Italian familys home eating some fresh hot bread, and creamy alfrado made to order. I will be coming back and i highly recommend this place to anyone passing or living in clovis. oh and the pizza, huge, filling and the sooooo fresh!!!! love it!01 Oct, 2014Chicken Alfrado. Creamy, homemade, and fantastic
A Shamanic Dream Meal. In April, my family set off for Austin for an indeterminate amount of time for my Bride to live with two of her sisters. By some astral interjection, we ended up leaving for Austin on the 29th anniversary of my Bride’s papa’s death. Returning to Southern Oregon from Austin after what turned out to be a five month vision quest for my Bride, we stopped at the Travelodge in Clovis, NM for our first night out of Texas. Again the stars aligned in a way that landed us leaving TX on the anniversary of my Bride’s papa’s birth. You can’t make this stuff up.I have had a craving for stuffed shells for a couple months that has gone unsatiated due to my Bride having allergies to gluten and dairy as well as to onions, garlic, and brassicas such as kale, cabbage, broccoli, etc. She being Italian, those allergies pretty much rule out the national cuisine, never mind the potential migraine from eating out just about anywhere. I thought I could grab myself a bite to eat at Roma’s Restaurant in front of the motel while by bride and son ate from the cooler. While looking up their menu online I found they had gluten free pasta. With some strong encouraging I was able to coax her into walking over for further investigation. After a few minutes with no luck looking at menu in hand, Mario came out of the kitchen and helped create a special meal that had my Bride grinning from ear to ear. Since it was Tuesday, my son’s spaghetti and meatball was on the house and Roma’s combination Dinner more than quenched my thirst. It is usually true that the first meal after returning through the Birth Gate from a quest is quite magical, however, we did not see that one coming. Thanks Mario of Romas and my Bride’s papa Danny.
Great food!. We could eat here everyday. There are so many different options to choose from. We are so happy to have a Italian food in Clovis, NM.
A Gem in the Rough and Well Wortha Visit. Roma’s was recommended by the front desk staff at our hotel. Being in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico, I was skeptical, especially after living in Italy for a short while. The menu states that all pastas are home made, and they are. My husband enjoyed the baked cannelloni and I had combination plate…lasagna, cannelloni and cheese manicotti. All exceeded our expectations. The meals were hot, served promptly and were very tasty. The bread is made from scratch and served fresh and hot. Beer and wine are available. Portions were more than adequate and we did not plan for dessert, but upon hearing that the Tiramisu was home made, we split one, and so glad we did. It was OUTSTANDING and equaled the ones we enjoyed in Italy. If you are not an Italian food fan, make the trip just for the Tiramisu, you’ll be glad you did. They serve pizza, made from scratch, which looked pretty good, although we did not try it. Mario, the owner, a native of Southern Italy is onsite and values customer feedback.A pleasant surprise after a long day on the road. Will certainly return if or when we are in Clovis.
Good Food ..Loved the Pizza. Went on a Tuesday night they did pretty good business. Two cooks and two server/ hostesses. Servers were pleasant and kept us taken care of. We saw a couple of couples come in that had to wait to be seated because no one was in the room, but you’d normally wait to be seated a lot of places. It seemed my chicken parmigiana was a Ben E Keith chicken parmigiana not a fresh breaded chicken breast with real breast meat…slightly chopped looking on inside with some chewy non chickeny goo in the middle. Husband enjoyed his sausage fettuccine stuff. Kids loved their cheese pizza and we tasted it and it was very good. They weren’t keen on raviolis due to too much ricotta but that is the dish. Desserts were also definitely a bulk purchase of a tiramisu and mousse cake but overall meal was good.
