Been to Shogun 4 times over the past 3 years. It gets worse every time. Going to lunch or dinner at a restaurant is not always about how the food tastes. We had a group of 13 today, an that means automatic gratuity….nothing unexpected of course. Problem being, service always stinks with a large group. It took 28 minutes once we had our order taken, for the cook to wheel out the cart. Long story short, it was $96 for my wife and I and 4 sons. Hibachi chicken was as dry as it gets. Fried rice and vegetables taste pretty good, but wow are they so heavy and horrible for you after the scoops of sugar they cake them with. They cook the rice and all other food items on the grill with that sugar. And I know that you can request them to not use it, but why do they even do it? Their food should stand alone without so much sugar. They have a lot to change if they want to be taken seriously. The air vents, bathrooms and curtains are so gross. Their food can’t even stand up to panda express. It’s just so slow, dirty, unhealthy and not even remotely authentic. I lived in Japan for many years, and it’s literally night and day. People say that Shogun is the best place ace in Clovis. If you want Asian, go to Walmart and buy some frozen Asian meals. Better choices for food in general are the lunch box, baby J’s, espiga, coffee bistro, sometimes cotton patch, sometimes something different or just cook at home.
