Al’s Big Dipper

  • Disappointing sandwich. I just ate one of Al's beef dip-a-do sandwiches. Probably the driest, most flavorless sandwich I've ever had. Whatever they're…

  • Accounting Manager. Just ate there for the first time... really delicious! They roast their own roast beef and it was excellent... they were super nic…

  • A Must Try. By far my favorite lunch/breakfast place downtown. The service and quality are excellent. I have tried most of the menu items....yes I eat…

Great lunch. Staying in town and ordered their chef salad for delivery to my hotel. Great fresh salad with lots of goodies. Quick delivery.

Delicious Sandwiches from Awesome People. Everything here is scrumptious. Al & Cassidy (the owners) put a lot of love in to the place and it shows. I’ve never had a sandwich that was anything other than delicious, and they offer great vegetarian alternatives for many of the meat sandwiches. The soup of the day is always tasty and worth trying.Cassidy is an amazing baker and, since I decided to become vegan a few months back, she even offered to make some vegan treats for me since I can’t have the normal cookies any more. A great local business that is worth supporting.

Great Sammies. I love this place, their sandwichs are always delicious. My favorite is the Angel Sweet Onion, roast beef, spinach, sweet onion jam and cream cheese pressed on ciabatta. Mmm. They also have one of the best lunch specials downtown, which is a half sandwich and a cup of soup for $5.05. Did I say their soups are delicious too? Different every day but always wonderful.

Top Tier Sandwich place. Hi,As my name states I am a downtown foodie. They are kicking tale and taking names. I was told about this place from an old friend from middle school thanks (A.C) and man I am VERY glad that I listened to him :D. To know a little of the history, they moved into the old relish sandwich shop location… I was a MAJOR fan of the The Cubano!! So I was a little hesitant to try it out. Well all I can say is forget the old and in with the new. I am a big eater and my stomach is always pleased to eat here. Here are my top reasons why you should stop by.1. The combinations that Chef Al comes up for the specials.2. The Staff is always GREAT! They all wear plastic gloves and have proper food handling technique!! That’s a big deal folks… 3. The price is good even for an el cheapo like myself no more than $10.4. The longest wait I have had has been 20 Minuets… yes I have timed it… 5. Even though this is a sandwich place the salads are AWESOME!!!Well this is my review.. I hope you stop by… and I forgot they did not EARN the #3 (should be #2) best sandwich place in town for no reason.

Australia Arrives and Albuquerque (AAA). After wandering up and down Central to get a sense of Albuquerque, hunger was beginning to make its presence felt, realising the in the US you get twice what you need and not seeking something readily available in Sydney, I walked in to the Big Dipper. The owner gave me a suggestion and I has one of the nicest toasted sandwiches I have ever had, good portion and exquisitely presented. Sydney will welcome you at Circular Quay and you may never look back.

Very tasty lunch! I had CC’s chicken special which had deli sliced chicken, avocado, pepper jack cheese and chipolte mayo all pressed between grilled sour dough. All the flavors worked well together and the sandwich came with a choice of side and a cookie. I had the fruit which was fresh, cool and refreshing. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy some of there other sandwiches or maybe try one of there soups. Two thumbs up!

AWESOME!. I frequent downtown on a daily basis and have been rather reluctant to try any of the food up until recently. Al’s big dipper is what has changed my fear of food downtown. The other day a coworker of mine went there and picked up a few sandwiches and gave me a little taste. Wow. The beeker’s beef was the to die for! I also had a taste of the angel sweet onion as well. Yummy! Now, I can’t wait to order from Al’s, and my new addiction is the beeker’s beef, although I plan to work my way through the entire menu over the next few weeks. For those of you who may also be scared of the mediocre food downtown, this is the place to go. The food is on point and the staff is awesome. Try it, you can thank me later.
