This is a really nice place and great for a date night or special occasion. The prices are high! The food is good, the service is great. The only thing I didn’t like and of course because of where it is located (downtown) is the parking situation. They do offer valet. There’s also live music which I really liked that special touch.
Ruined Birthday Party. We had a party of 10 last night at Hotel Andaluz. Our bill was approaching $400 by the time that we finished. That being said, the evening was ruined by the service there. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service was sub-par at best. The waitress had to be reminded several times about items that had been ordered. The food took nearly an hour to be delivered after being ordered. Not to mention that two plates on that order were then delivered approximately 30minutes after that. It took a request on our part to have those two meals removed from the check completely. It’s not clear whether this was a waitress issue or a kitchen staff issue. Nonetheless, service was poor and none of us will be going back to Lucia. My only redemption would be if this rating serves to prevent someone from going there. This ruined the evening.
Good spot. Great service and good atmosphere!
If it looks burnt cheese is not going to hide it. Ps taste your food…
White Bread. I came here for Brunch after purchasing a Groupon. As a local, Ive never stayed in a room in this beautifully renovated Historic Building, but I have attended meetings & catered events and the bar on the mezzanine level is a popular social watering hole with a fantastic rooftop patio. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday afternoon to a nearly empty restaurant. That should have been the first clue that we were not in for the meal of our lives. The staff were super attentive… to the point of annoying. The maitre d’ was great; But our server, an older woman, either had little experience in restaurants or maybe a career as a cashier at a gas station behind her. She came to the table twice within minutes of seating, when I already had water and clearly I had not even glanced at the menu, and then came back once more within 3 or 4 minutes. My guest had chosen a table right by the entrance, so they were gracious with our request to switch tables to another location. She must have waited a good minute and half, then shes back to request our order again. Listen, Its a Sunday morning, Im trying to catch up with an old friend, so we were both annoyed at this point and I engaged her to help me quickly chose a meal item. Then, maybe she would go away and leave us alone. I wanted an eggy-breakfasty kind of thing but also a small salad. They didnt offer a side salad on any of the breakfast items so I chose a lunch item, a BLT sandwich with a fried egg which came with a side salad. She did not ask me what kind of bread I wanted, and so when it came it was very traditional, very bland, sliced white bread. God I hate white bread. I feel strongly, if you are a fancy restaurant in this day, your white flour sandwich bread should be something sour and crusty, like Sage Bakehouse, or should have some sort of flavor or texture to it. Also, it was cut in half with 2 eggs, not one. Not a big deal, but some folks need to watch their consumption of egg yolks. I generally do only 1 per day.The potatoes were ok, chunks of potato with no savory seasoning or herbs; The salad was ok, with limp butter lettuce and an inadequate amount of inadequate dressing; The sandwich was less than ok, as described above. Perhaps, if Id been allowed ample time to review the menu and pick out something more to my liking, I would have enjoyed this visit more. In the end, I didnt feel it was worth even the discounted price Id paid with my Groupon plus the $20 more we spent on top of that and I wish we had gone to Petite Louis, which was the plan prior to me realizing I had an expiring Groupon to use.Summary: The dcor is fabulous, the table by the north window was entertaining, and the weather was perfect… but the food was sub-par and the service annoying. I dont go out for a nice meal much anymore, and in this case I felt just a little robed of the special meal Id planned.
Wow.. When I went in here I saw several negative reviews, so I wasn’t expecting much. I was blown away with the service and food. You arrive, and there is complementary valet parking (don’t forget to tip them). The host and waiter were nice and helpful, without overdoing it. And the all around atmosphere of the place was great. I got a burger, and wife got a chicken club. Both were delicious, the chicken was juicy and far from dry, and my burger just tasted refreshing. All around a great meal, with great service.
Drinks are amazing. Victor was a very nice bartender that made great drinks. Disappointed they changed the sliders and food was alright at best.
