Pasta dishes at salad bar made with undercooked pasta. Most meats cooked well but a couple had way too much salt. Not a relaxing place to dine (i.e. too many children). Overpriced for the quality of food and ambiance.
I can’t tell you what the food is like these days because we weren’t able to be seated when expected. We called while on the train from Santa Fe, and were assured we would be able to seat our party of 8 within 30 minutes of arrival. This assurance was because they couldn’t take our reservation. Upon arrival, we were not only told the wait was 1 1/2 – 2 h, but we were told this quite rudely. When questioned, a young lady (one if the 5 giggling young women at the front) admitted that they lied to us. It wasn’t a change in volume, they outright lies. Between rude attitudes and admission if dishonesty, I will no longer consider Tucanos a place to celebrate big events. Our birthday party moved down the road ….
This place is perfect for a special occasion, I say that because for two people it’s hard to have a check less than 60$. But it’s delicious and well worth the price. The meat servers are ready to get you what ever you want, which in our case was loads of grilled pineapple! The collard greens are tasty as well, and my goodness the meat is always so tender.

I did not eat here, since I am a vegan, but had a Bloddy Mary at the bar. I’m very critical of the quality of a Bloody Mary, & this one was fabulous. So good, that I had two.
Waaay better than buffet…. This buffet style restaurant provides a great meal. Their meat offerings are varied and delicious. The fresh salad bar doesn’t just have the cliche items one comes to expect from a salad bar, and those standard choices that they do have, are fresh and very tasty. It is not a cheap restaurant, but it is well worth it.
I Like It!. I have enjoyed Tucano’s every time I have been there. The food is wonderful and I find the unusual service style very entertaining. Now and then I have had a bit of a wait, but nothing terrible, and my servers have always been friendly and helpful. The only real drawback I have noticed is the ambient noise level – the room seems designed to catch and echo every sound as many times and as loudly as possible. When the restaurant is full, it can be difficult to hold a conversation or even hear the servers describing what dish they have brought. Still, give it a try – the wonderful food is worth it!
