A Favorite for Years. My family and I have been eating at Baggins for many years. The food is always good and the service always warm and friendly. Highly recommended!
Baggins is the best!!. I have been dining at Baggins for almost a decade now! It is absolutely delicious. Everything is made fresh to order. The desserts and salads are also homemade, by Baggins. I have had everything on the menu! The Unforgettable sandwich is just that! Who doesn’t love fresh turkey? Dont’ forget to checkout the Sundown Baggins! Have a Thanksgiving kind of sandwich any day! Also on special days, Al, the owner makes a great posole, with a dash of Puerto Rican influence! My favorite! People order it by the bucket load. If you want cheap and unhealthy, go ahead and head to McD’s, but once you try Baggin’s you’ll never want to skimp on quality again!
Delicious!!!. I have lived in Albuquerque my entire life and never had the opportunity to try Baggin’s before, so a while ago i decided to go in. I fell in love with the place immediately! Their dinning area is very quaint; good for business lunches, meeting up with friends, or just reading a good book while grabbing some food. All of the sandwiches I have tried there have been delicious, and left me full and wanting to come back for more. I especially love their homemade chocolate chip cookies for desert! My favorite sandwich is either their grinder, which they pack full of fresh veggies, or their cro-magnon, cooked with true New Mexican green chili. If all that wasn’t enough, the staff was very accommodating and helped me with anything i needed. The guy who was working the register even reminded me to grab my chips before i walked away so they didn’t charge me for something i probably would have forgotten. All in all, it has quickly become my favorite place to go grab a bite to eat, and i highly recommend it!
Delicious In-house cooking. I have been going to Baggins for over 7 years. And those sandwiches just get stuck in my mind. I crave them! So many choices to choose from, and they have grilled sandwiches for those cold days and cold sandwiches for those hot days. Plus, all their soup and sides are made in-house. Not to mention the meats are made in-house too. If you like real Thanksgiving turkey, then this is the sandwich shop for you. Say good-bye to that deli-meat crap that a slicer just cuts up. The atmosphere is nice, the crew is always willing to give suggestions and you get a FREE homemade chocolate chip cookie with every sandwich (and salad too!) Their salads are also huge and come with a good amount of veggies. They are always coming up with new sandwiches too. But of course, if you are like me, don’t judge a place purely on other people’s reviews. Go in and try it for yourself! You might just find the Best Sandwiches in town (Did I mention they won Best of Burque for their sandwiches and soup? And got a wonderful right-up in ABQ the magazine?)
YUMmmmmmmm!. I’ve had a lot of sandwiches in my life, but I think I’ve found The One. Or even The Two.If you haven’t gone to Baggins on Lomas yet, you should go for lunch as soon as possible and get either the Unforgettable or the Cubano. What a perfect balance of flavors — sweet and smoky, rich and — on fresh, crispy bread with a chewy, tender crust. It’s honestly the single best sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ve been told their gobbler is just as good.
Won’t be coming back. I had been to Baggin’s before and wanted to try them again. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which was the worst I have had in Albuquerque. It was salty, too much mustard, and too much other stuff. The potato salad was bland–basically potatoes and mayonaise–no seasoning. There was only one other customer in the restaurant, yet my order took a long time. One of the staff members was curt and rude. If you want an excellent sandwich with fresh ingredients and excellent cuts of meat, try Relish (Menaul and Wyoming) and DG’s on Martin Luther King.
Won’t be back. It has been about 20 years since I’ve been to the Lomas location, and it looked like it’s been that long since the place has been cleaned. Wood tables are visibly grimy and sticky. Floor and ceiling tiles filthy. If this is what the public area looks like I shudder to think about the kitchen. The veggie sandwich was hearty, the soup way too salty, and soda filled to the brim with ice. I won’t be back.
